Thanks! That's so sweet! I know I enjoyed the times I spent with you, too, and am still grateful for the wee or so you opened your house to me when I visited back east.

I should mention, though, that fortunately this wasn't my parent, but a parent I observed doing this. I felt like saying something, but figured I'd better not start any fights, so I brought my response over here, where it wouldn't be seen.

My mother would possibly have said something like that, though, but I've learned long ago never to share any thoughts like that with her. That's probably one reason I was so ticked off when I witnessed the other parent offering this "advice".

Yes, I had a real "momma bear" reaction to that one. :) Still, glad to have a chance to say all of that. :)

Maybe not so much "strong" as "apathetic". I know I'm pretty self-absorbed and that it comes from my mother, but I pride myself on being the kind of self-absorbed that minimizes my impact on others.
