LJ Idol Week 6: Urban Legends

When I was little, my dad bought a book for me and my younger sister. I don't remember the title, and I have since mailed it away to a friend to look through and I doubt I'll ever see it again. It was a trashy, pulpy anthology of "unexplained" stories and urban legends, usually in the form of articles, assembled by theme on two-page spreads. ( Read more... )

One time I was driving across Kansas. Actually, I've driven across Kansas twice. From Kansas City to the Colorado side. And for miles and mile and miles there were signs encouraging me to stop and see the two-headed goat. I didn't stop. But I remember thinking that Kansas is probably not a big tourist destination.

Also, as a kid, the Georgia State Capitol building in Atlanta was a popular place for field trips, and they had a Georgia museum, and it contained the remnants of several two headed farm animals born in the state...
