LJ Idol Week 6: Urban Legends

When I was little, my dad bought a book for me and my younger sister. I don't remember the title, and I have since mailed it away to a friend to look through and I doubt I'll ever see it again. It was a trashy, pulpy anthology of "unexplained" stories and urban legends, usually in the form of articles, assembled by theme on two-page spreads. ( Read more... )

I think part of me will always hide inside my ten-year-old self and pretend it's all real.

I loved those stories when I was young. Weekly World News is greatly missed...

Sometimes, it's really nice to pretend it's all real, because there's so much real stuff that shouldn't be happening, and we need a way to distract ourselves from that.
