I'm just not enjoying theater/acting any more and can't see the fight that it takes to get any sort of role as worth it when, once I get a role, I don't like the work to character build any more.

school is children, and clinic/hospital is a lot of elderly (people who have had strokes and such
oh! and in the hospital you might work with very little babies because since your concentration is on the mouth and vocal tract swallowing difficulties are very closely related

But...I am sure we'll both find our niches someway or another.
You have always seemed interested in architecture. So why not give that one a shot?
Speech pathology sounds really interesting to me. Like Domi said, it covers a lot of things--from little kids to the elderly. I had no idea a speech therapist helps with swallowing. (My grandma might need one.)

But I think you find something you'll be really happy about, they'll support that too.
