[He doesn't need to look to know it's Greed, but he lifts his head a little anyway. He's definitely glaring, but it seems like he's not really trying -- he just looks tired.]

[Greed smirks. So Fullmetal wanted a fight, eh? He could use one himself.]

[Ed sure as hell wouldn't mind a good fight and that remark was just enough incentive. He cracks his knuckles, stubborn determination in his eyes. A nice change from the half assed glare.]

I wouldn't be so sure about that! [ROUND 1 START. Ed pushes off of the ground hard, pulling his arm back and clenching his fist as he launches himself toward Greed. His target? Greed's smug face.]

C | Around Town

[Riza heard about your bad day, Ed. And she might not look it at first glance, but she's very observant and good with dates. It didn't take her more than a few minutes to put together what had Ed in such a foul mood when Roy started grumbling about Ed's behavior in the chemistry lab as soon as she walked in the front door.

So she turned around and headed out in search of Ed, Black Hayate in tow as the obligatory soft and cuddly object, as well as tea. She'd learned her cookies were only just okay with her last attempt at baking. When she found him wandering, she walked up to him, clearing her throat. She of course would have to do nothing else to announce her presence seeing as Hayate is wagging his tail furiously and almost standing on Edward's feet he's so damn excited.]

I thought I'd find you wandering around out here.

[Not practically, he is standing on Ed's feet, but that's ok. He bends down to scratch Hayate behind his ears without bothering to look up to see that Riza's there. Where there is Hayate, there is Riza.]

[Hayate presses his head into Ed's hand petting is win. Meanwhile, Riza offers Ed the cup of tea. Yes, Ed, she discovered traveling hot-beverage cups since her arrival in Mayfield.]

I would have brought cookies, but my last batch was only somewhat edible. On top of everything else, that would have been cruel.

[He looks up for a moment, taking the tea] ... Thanks, Lieutenant.

[He immediately diverts his attention - obliging Hayate's love for all that is petting and scratching. His shoulders stiffen and his ducks his head back down to hide the wince on his face after she says that.]

You figured it out that easily, huh? It's... it's ok, really. I'm fine.

B . Lunch/End of School

[ You seem so grumpy and Madoka has noticed! She noticed him on her way to the nurse and noticed he was still there when she got lost in the halls later.

So, at the end of school, Madoka decides to take a quick detour and pop her head in. She's holding a little container full of the leftover cupcakes and cookies that she'd been handing out during lunch. ]

Um... um, excuse me?

Do you... do you have a moment?

He looks up when the door opens, leaning to the side a bit to see who was there. The voice was certainly familiar.]

Yeah, I'm just cleaning up the lab. ... Are you lost or something?

Ah, no! I mean, I was! But I found you now! Not that I-I'm stalking or-!

[ She fidgets a bit, feeling a wave of nervousness. She's always thought "it'd be nice to cheer someone up", but this is one of her first times attempting it for real.

She takes a deep breath and walks over, sitting the container on the table. ]

I um... I know you're cleaning...! I'll clean up after myself, um! But, here! [ And slides the container full of decorated cupcakes and cookies at him, too shy to look him in the face. ]

It's fine, relax. [A bit of a smile tugs at his lips] I don't have much to clean up anyway.

[and then suddenly cupcakes. and Ed doesn't really know what to say. he picks up a cupcake, his eyes flicking up to look at her curiously] I... thanks. Did you make these yourself?

[join the club. Ed has his feet up on his desk, scratching weird circles into his desk with a pin. Being the careful guy that he is, it comes a a surprise when the pin slips and digs itself into his finger.]
