[ You seem so grumpy and Madoka has noticed! She noticed him on her way to the nurse and noticed he was still there when she got lost in the halls later.

So, at the end of school, Madoka decides to take a quick detour and pop her head in. She's holding a little container full of the leftover cupcakes and cookies that she'd been handing out during lunch. ]

Um... um, excuse me?

Do you... do you have a moment?

[So sweet, Madoka. ;A;

He looks up when the door opens, leaning to the side a bit to see who was there. The voice was certainly familiar.]

Yeah, I'm just cleaning up the lab. ... Are you lost or something?

Ah, no! I mean, I was! But I found you now! Not that I-I'm stalking or-!

[ She fidgets a bit, feeling a wave of nervousness. She's always thought "it'd be nice to cheer someone up", but this is one of her first times attempting it for real.

She takes a deep breath and walks over, sitting the container on the table. ]

I um... I know you're cleaning...! I'll clean up after myself, um! But, here! [ And slides the container full of decorated cupcakes and cookies at him, too shy to look him in the face. ]

It's fine, relax. [A bit of a smile tugs at his lips] I don't have much to clean up anyway.

[and then suddenly cupcakes. and Ed doesn't really know what to say. he picks up a cupcake, his eyes flicking up to look at her curiously] I... thanks. Did you make these yourself?

Y-yes! I mean, um... not for... um, well...

[ Calm down, Madoka! You can do this!

Prepare for a lot of "um". ]

... I-I made a bunch... since it's my birthday and I wanted to share... and help people smile a bit and, um... I mean, I wasn't trying but I saw you a few times and you looked so... um, what I'm trying to say is... Please, I'd like you to have the leftovers! I don't know what's bothering you b-but... at least, take these...!

[His brows furrow. Was it really that obvious that something was bothering him?]

I appreciate the thought, but I can't take all of these if it's your birthday.

Oh no, it's fine!

[ She waves her hand dismissively. ]

I've been handing them out to people all day, so please! Help yourself!

Are you sure? We could just split them between the two of us.

Oh um, are you sure? I mean... if that'll make you feel better then sure!

[ Madoka begins splitting the cupcakes, glad that he's not so troubled he can't talk to her a bit. She was really worried. ]

Mm. It's nice to meet you too, Edward-kun! [ After finishing the task of dividing the cupcakes-- three each, because she had six-- she slides a plate to him. ] I have an extra container too, if you'd like to take some home with you.

That'd be great, thanks. [but he's totally going to eat one right now because they look amazing and he didn't have anything for lunch.] Have you been here long?

[ And Madoka's glad to see him eating. Lunch was one of the reasons she worried in the first place. ]
