I've had some crappy times since he died, things like dopplegangers and nightmares and I still can't watch Lost In Space (1998 version) or handle certain bits of music, but this is by far one of the most horrid things to happen yet.
And do something nice for yourself tomorrow, even if it's just having that last piece of candy you were saving for a special time, or curling up on the couch in your comfiest clothes with your facvorite book/videogame/etc.
Oh, and speaking of videogames, next time something traumatises you that badly, you have my permission to stop what you're doing, take a deep breath, and go play Tetris.
It may sound strange, but it WORKS. Not only does it do what the article says, but it also forces your brain to focus intently on something besides freaking out, which allows you to calm down, and start thinking rationally again. (I've actually tried it when hitting panic attacks.)

I don't envy you the experience, though. In your situation, I don't think I would've reacted much better.

It was mentioned later that perhaps I need to find some holy water or an equally powerful thing to cleanse my email.
I haven't counted out the need quite yet, either.
