I'm more or less back! Not quite recovered yet, my sinuses are still blocked, but at least I'm not feeling so weak anymore. I'll be back at work tomorrow, though I'm not looking forward to it. The weather is AWFUL at the moment. Last week it even snowed! I couldn't believe my eyes. And it's damn cold and wet, urgh. I bought two new woollen hats on

It's cold over here in Spain too; not snowing, yet, but definitely colder than usual at this time of year. And of course I'm catching a cold, because otherwise life wouldn't be exciting... I ought to go and get myself a nice woollen hat too!
Funny thing, in Spanish we have a similar saying: "El burro por delante, para que no espante", say parents and junior-school teachers when children make that kind of mistake. I've translated that from Spanish into English, but I've also noticed that not all native English-speakers follow the rule...
And Villarreal... *sigh* Can't believe they lost. I suggest going over to Madrid to kidnap Pellegrini and take him back home. And Liverpool... honestly, if a beach-ball can foil us, what can we expect? At least there's Champions matches midweek, to (hopefully) cheer us up!
Hope your return to work is less horrible than what you're expecting! :)

LOL, it's the same image as well, isn't it? (Or doesn't "burro" mean "donkey"?) XD Some Germans don't follow the rule either, but they're usually chided by everyone else when they don't. XD
Villarreal are making me sad. Very sad. Then again, I believe that Pellegrini is the only person to cope with a Real squad like this, so whereas I'd very much like him to come back home to Villarreal, I don't want him to abandon Real either. Why can't we clone him?
That beach ball thing is an utter farce. I can't believe the referee didn't blow the whistle when the ball dropped onto the pitch. Usually when there's a disturbance the ref should blow the whistle! Also, Sunderland's coach should remember well that he had to rely on his colleague's generosity once, so he should show some generosity now and grant us a replay.
*hugs* Thank you! It wasn't all that bad, fortunately. :D

"My friend and I" is grammatically correct, and it should certainly be used in written English. Spoken English tends to have a lot more colloquial-isms/grammatical errors/etc, so people do say "me and my friend," though it isn't correct.
