I have more to say on that subject but as of now I have a date with my REM sleep, so more in the morning!

(And LOL about "what a fun show". Heeeee!)

I'm back. I totally woke up in the middle of the night to type half-formed thoughts on this into my iPod, too. I'm dedicated. :)

So. Okay. I'm renouncing S6. Which is like a crack addict handing back the blow being all, "sorry, I don't like what this is cut with."

I was always all for more of The Boys, but this is just not them. It's off in all the wrong ways and it's not redeeming itself. The writers literally wrote themselves into a hole along with Sam's soul, and apparently forgot that they are ALLOWED TO WRITE THEMSELVES SHOVELS. OR EVEN A POSSIBLE BULLDOZER.

I don't know. I'm feeling more and more like the real show ended for me back in Stull Cemetery, and I'll have to imagine for myself that Sam & Dean went out in a Butch and Sundance-approved blaze of glory. Because that's how it should end.

Sadly, at this point, I have to agree. This is all just a huge mess and the more I watch of it, the more I feel as I felt during my short stint of watching Lost -- that there was no plan and the writers were just making stuff up as they went. That's exactly the feeling I'm getting from S6, especially after last night when they apparently torpedoed half their plots and reset us back to the start of the season. So I watched the first ten episodes... why, exactly? *grumpyface*

LOL, what am I not surprised? I DO THIS TOO.

I liked it but now I kind of feel like an ass for liking it.

Awww BB don't feel bad. *hugs* I greatly admire people who can watch or read stuff that is less-than-stellar but find lots of things to admire and enjoy. It's a good character trait in general. :)

You definitely aren't alone in having enjoyed this ep and I'm glad that a lot of people reacted differently than I did. If everyone hated it I would be even more unhappy.

Although I am a little bit WTF over them burninating Crowley. Like, they just used him to set up a bunch of shit and now he... poofs?

I hate to say it but it's a clear sign of a writing staff that is foundering. Easy solution: kill the baddie tied to a bunch of plots and reset everything. Immensely frustrating for viewers but the easy way out for them.

Then again, Crowley IS a male so it's possible his death will be retconned within the next few eps. In this case I hope so because I'm not at all impressed with the lazy writing.

I agree with you about Kim Manners. This show has suffered without him. :( RIP, Kim, you are missed.

YES. Is it Sunday already? *bounces around in crazy circles*

Honestly, I'd recommend skipping this one if you have major issues with rape, rape jokes, gay panic "hilarity" and/or torture porn.

I can not WAIT. And as soon as the final ep has aired I'll feel comfortable writing some fic. I see an epic love story for Rick's hat in my future!

-I'm sure I'm in the tiny minority but I really could have lived without the silliness of Cas watching porn and then getting a boner. It all just felt forced and off: the pacing, the timing, the delivery, eh." If it's a minority, I'm right there with you. It was uncomfortable, and silly and a boner? Really ( ... )

It was like one of the writers brought in their 12-year-old to write the "hilarity" of that scene.

I liked all the parts that you pointed out, so yeah -- it wasn't a total loss. For me though, the torture-porn and rape jokes and gay panic all left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had trouble enjoying the good moments.

What worries me most is the sense I'm getting that the writers are just making this stuff up as they go and don't have an actual plan for getting Sam's soul back. I hope I'm wrong about this but I have a pretty good sense for when a writing staff is floundering and that's the feeling I'm getting from this show right now. Mass resets and retcons aren't a good sign.

I'm a person who will always like the episode, whatever they do (okay, almost whatever they do). So I liked it.
I agree there was too much torture though, I can really live without that.

And grandpa is defenitely wrong. Getting Mary back would just be odd. And yes, she would rather save her sons.

Crowley dying made me really sad. Who knows though, maybe there's a way to bring him back.

I still believe the writers are going to give us something really really good soon. I hope people don't give up yet =)

I'm not giving up but I'm having serious issues about how much misogyny I can tolerate. I thought the writers learned their lesson after the strong negative reaction to Ruby being stripped down and tortured but apparently not! Which makes me think that they don't care how we feel, which bothers me a lot.

Anyhow, I am glad that you enjoyed this ep! I'd be feeling a lot worse about the show if I got up this morning and found that everyone else disliked it as much as I did.

All I want is Sam back. Is that too much to ask for?

We all want Sam back. And the writers must think the same! Right? I believe we're getting much closer though.

And I agree with you on the torture part, it was the rest of the ep I liked =)
I hope some other people liked the episode too, and it's not only because I can someteimes be a delusional optimist, haha =P
