and jimmy was so human, with the yelling and the bitching and the just wanting to be a normal person with his wife and kid. and not saying grace before dinner! it was like being castiel's vessel - which he'd accepted at the time - made him lose his faith. :(
sam with blood all over his face was just gross. i may or may not have yelled "wipe that off!" too. *ahem*
i just do not like that the boys call castiel "cas". he's an angel, guys, show some respect. i don't love that anna does it either. I really, really hate that, and a lot of other fans do too. You don't give an angel a nickname. You just don'tMisha looks better with a little stubble-- so Castiel IS better-looking to me than Jimmy. Thank goodness they resolved why Jimmy "after" was so irreverent and out-of-synch with the kind of guy who would pray to be taken over by an angel. Which, it turns out, he did NOT do. Apparently there was some sort of clause, whereby not actively praying for that NOT to happen was just asking for it. :0

i really liked the different jimmys - he was so full of faith and belief and trust in god in the beginning, and then a year later he couldn't even say grace before dinner. (even tho his wife and daughter were expecting it, which was interesting.) this thing that he probably thought was such an honor - being an angel's vessel, doing god's bidding - turned out to be terrifically destructive for him and his family. i really love that the angels and all the stuff surrounding them is so very NOT sweetness and light, that they can be just as violent and inconsiderate and inhuman as the demons. i love that there's all this unexpected collateral damage that really is genuinely damaging

All these episodes taking us into characters' backstories seems like Kripke handwaving at us with one hand while he lines up all the cannons and soldiers with the other, the better to blow us away at the end of the season.
Having said that, I find it tiresome. I'm not in it for the minor characters.
I did like that they locked Sam in the demon-proof panic room, though! I'm just wondering how this is all going to pull together in two episodes!
i don't think castiel is a minor character any more. but i like him, so i'm not complaining. much. (altho i also really like the non-angel episodes, because i'm not so hot on the whole angels/demons/endoftheworldisathand mytharc. i miss the saving people and the hunting things!)
i loved the panic room intervention. but i have no idea either how they're going to pull everything together for the end of the season. i predict a couple of very intense episodes. O.O
