miome just made the most inedible pancakes ever by accidentally substituting baking soda for baking powder.

It looked so delicious. THE PANCAKE WAS A LIE.

I wish I hadn't snorted out laughing at that. God, I'm a geek.

What's even better is after that, she started playing Pandemic 2 and named her disease "Bad Pancakes." She killed off the entire world (including Madagascar) with bad pancakes. XD

.....Strangely enough I got taught how to play Pandemic (the boardgame) today. 'Twas fun.

.....you mean if you exchange it then you can't eat it? ._. I thought you could. Usually when baking soda is used for leavening, it's less than baking powder. You do have a problem if you accidentally used the same amount of baking soda though.

...I'm confused. Poor pancakes.

You can substitute baking powder for baking soda if you use about 3x as much baking powder in the recipe. That's because baking powder is basically baking soda with cream of tartar mixed in. However, you cannot generally do the reverse and substitute baking soda directly for baking powder. She basically added 3 teaspoons of baking soda, which is already more powerful than baking powder, to the recipe.

It tasted kind of like really bad pancake flavored toothpaste.
