[There are a couple of dots from Ed tapping his pen on the page and then he begins writing.]

Those people, the Malnosso, they must have some pretty advanced sciences. From what I've hear, it sounds like they can achieve feats alchemy is far from accomplishing. Getting people across worlds is hard enough, but to do it without the gate or following ( Read more... )

I can't believe you still want to learn how to bring people back from the dead.

I don't. But I do want to know what it was that we did wrong that caused it to backfire, just for scientific advancement. I wouldn't be stupid enough to actually try that again.

That kind of attitude is what got you into that mess in the first place.

Yeah, but I know what happen the first time and I'm not going to try it again. I've learned my lesson, you know that.

You sure do write a lot.

It's not that much compared to things I usually write.

You could write more? Ack. You should talk with Albert Silverberg or Raine Sage, they're into that writing bit.

Oh. And some things, like bringing the dead back to life, happen in other worlds, too, not just Luceti. Sometimes it's not even scientific, but rather magical.

Raine Sage, she wrote the guide right?

Really? I'll have to look into that.

You're trying to apply the logic of your universe to this one. It won't work.

Apparently not, but it's the only thing I know that can even remotely explain what's going on here.

We have a library. I suggest you make use of it.

A library? I think I'll take your advice there.

You raise some interesting points about possible motives and the science of it all, but I think you're giving the Malnosso too much credit. I don't get the feeling that they're the kind of "save the world" scientists kidnapping us for the good of mankind and scientific discovery; rather, attaching wings to our central nervous systems implies a bit less charity.

I never implied that they were doing this for the good of man, hell, I'm as pissed as anyone that we're stuck here.

Then why even look into their methodology? Even assuming you could redeem it for your own purposes, the research is drenched in blood.

Even so, if we can find a was to use their information then that blood shed won't be for nothing.
