Hm... It's been a year since he and I met that day at the Samegawa River... [a soft laugh] To think such an innocuous meeting would be the prelude to a wonderful relationship. I never would have conceived of such a possibility back then...

It's funny how the most unexpected friendships often turn out to be the most enduring. But I am grateful for ( Read more... )

A... year since? I guess that means it's been even longer since I ended up here. Didn't think I'd lose track like that.

And sorry, guess I'm not an option for sparring with a Persona.

I know what you mean. It feels like a lifetime since I first joined this community. Maybe it's because I've changed so much since I first arrived...

It might be a bit dangerous for you, yes. Even if I were to refrain from using any magical attacks, Yamato-Takeru is still quite powerful when wielding a sword.

Possibly. A year can make a big difference.

Do you remember the first time we spoke to one another? It was right after my first encounter with the infamous Kaitou Kid, and I had failed to apprehend him. I took it pretty hard... got myself completely plastered... When I look back on that day, I think my reaction was rather laughable. Sulking like a child because my ego had been bruised.

I still wonder why you decided to talk to me, then. I mean, I was drunk at the time...

Aah.... congratulations?

I would offer to be your sparring partner, if there are weapons to be found for me.

Ah, thank you. I made quite a few friends during that time, and I'm glad to say that those bonds are as strong as ever, even after a year's time.

I believe I could procure whatever weapons you prefer to wield. Are you proficient with long swords?

Friends are always important to have. :)

I usually weild two short swords. Long swords are more Orca's and Balmung's style.

And with your new body, it'll be much easier for you to socialize with your friends. The more time you spend with them, the stronger those bonds will become.

Ah! That style is similar to Yosuke-senpai's fighting style. But he prefers kunai and daggers. Luckily for us, Daidara's carries a wide range of weaponry. We can easily procure a pair of short swords.

[[Oh, hiatus, what hiatus?]]

Been a while, huh?

...Yes. It has.

I haven't taken on any new case work since... closing the case in Inaba.

Really? Why's that? I remember when I first met you, that's all you ever seemed interested in.

You know, I'm not sure. At first, I wanted to take a break because, well... frankly, I needed it. Battling against a deity twice... I really wasn't mentally prepared to begin taking on casework so soon after that.

But then the spring term commenced, and I got so caught up with school work and my social life. If I were to begin taking on a serious caseload, I wouldn't be able to attend classes.

But maybe there's another reason for it... One that I'm having a hard time admitting to myself...

Yes, I'd have to say the human mind is a rather 'transient' thing.

You think so?

My will is what allows my Persona to manifest. It takes a great deal of mental energy in order to give shape to that which is shapeless...

Yes, I do. You might say I feel like at times I have some trouble with it

Persona? Those things are still around? Oh, right. Your world.

Does anything happen to your Persona if you don't will it, outside of it being shapeless?

Ah, yes... Well, at least you have Kazuha-san around to remind you of the things that are truly important in life.

It's... difficult to manifest my Persona in the "real" world. Having an Evoker makes it much easier to summon him, but without it, it's next to impossible. When we fought inside the TV world, we didn't need Evokers because we were already connected to the sea of the human unconscious. It's a place shaped by human thought. If you can imagine something, it becomes reality. I suppose one could say that to wield a Persona is like the ultimate visualization exercise...
