At last!

I just found out today that I've been promoted to Lab Associate II which - long story - is the position I left 2 years ago for all of 6 months and have been trying to get back ever since. It's still $2 less an hour than I was making 2 years ago but it's also $3 more an hour than I'm making now so I'm just going to shut up about it. My supervisor ( Read more... )

I really am enjoying the studying. The textbook is actually topical and fun to use and my instructor has lots of little assignments outside of the text that also make it interesting. The more I dig into it the more I enjoy it.

As for the pay, at this point I'm so grateful for any kind of meaningful advancement although I'm sure that will wear off quick enough. Still, my former pay would have been even more meaningful. It's something I intend to bring up as the opportunities arise.

Hi!

I friended you bc I luuurrrv your ds fic, which is all I've read. congrats on the promotion! I just started grad school (sort of again) after many years of working and having a paycheck, so I know what you mean. I'll finish a year before you, when I'm 39. Ack!

OH! and I've never seen Shelter, but I just put it at the top of my netflix queue, because I trust you.

I so hope you enjoy Shelter. The characters really resonated with me like few do. The film has the same kick-ass sweetness as dS which is a rare and wonderful thing in my book. And thank you thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed my work.
