At last!
I just found out today that I've been promoted to Lab Associate II which - long story - is the position I left 2 years ago for all of 6 months and have been trying to get back ever since. It's still $2 less an hour than I was making 2 years ago but it's also $3 more an hour than I'm making now so I'm just going to shut up about it. My supervisor and manager really came through for me. They told me they were going to push for it and that's something I heard before from other people and nothing ever came of it but, damn, if they didn't make it happen. I really owe them so much. I'm still kind of stunned stupid so I don't know what else to say about it other than \o/!
I'm also starting classes this week for the prerequisites for the nursing program. I've been flinching and ducking it for about a year now but I finally took the leap. I haven't been in school for way too long so I'm both nervous and excited about it. I was telling a couple of work friends that I should be finished with the program sometime in 2012 and one of them that I ::cough:: affectionately think of as the FlameThrower pointed out that that's when the Mayan calendar ends. I swear, that would be my luck. I finally graduate with a degree that will pay the bills just in time for the world to end. ::is worried::
Fandom-wise I am lame. I haven't contributed anything in eons and it doesn't look promising anytime soon. I'm afraid I'm going to get booted out for loitering and then it'll take me years to get back here.
