I just found out today that I've been promoted to Lab Associate II which - long story - is the position I left 2 years ago for all of 6 months and have been trying to get back ever since. It's still $2 less an hour than I was making 2 years ago but it's also $3 more an hour than I'm making now so I'm just going to shut up about it. My supervisor

And the nursing program - double yay. Believe my 25 years' experience, mature-age students are the ones teachers enjoy most, because they have switched-on shit detectors, and a sense of humour, and tons of motivation.
Forget fandom, it's *you* we like. (And I should be travelling to LA for something else next Northern summer, and am so looking forward to meeting you as a big extra bonus)

I'm so excited about school. It's going to take a while but I have this sense that I'm finally on the right path and that any hard work I put into it is going to pay off in the end.
