Today I learnt that World War II is officially not over.
It appears that Russia has never signed a pact with Japan to officially end hostilities because both countries claim ownership of the Kuril Islands just south of the Kamchatka peninsula. On paper, there is still a war.

The fucker turned and is not gonna hit us directly so I'm not gonna bother updating.

For what it's worth, I'm staying put. I live in Houston, Texas, and I will try to update this journal with my experiences during this hurricane. I know I often wanted to know what the situation was like in Louisiana, so for those of you interested I will try to pen these experiences and post them here ( Read more... )

I have decided that in the interest of updating this thing more often rather than just commenting on other people's entries, I will try to pose a daily (read every other day) absurdity for your consideration.
