I like that people are doing a little livejournaling again.

edit: it's probably because of winter. Winter means depression and depression IS livejournal.

So I work in the ghetto. Basically we go out and have tracking sheets with certain names and addresses of children we have to administer the surveys to. Thursday we went out into R.V. Taylor homes and walked around, just to get an idea of what the neighborhoods and people would be like. It was most of the kids' last day of school so a lot of them were running around outside, also lots of adults outside who greeted us and were generally really friendly. I'm in Mobile, Alabama for an internship until July 25. I'm working on a study called the Mobile Youth Survey. Basically what we do is go out into low and moderate income neighborhoods (mostly subsidized housing) in Mobile and Prichard. Generally, in terms of dress, casual but not provocative is the order of the day. I would also bring neutral colored clothes--tan, pastels, etc.-for work. Avoid bright red, bright blue, purple, black, as these are all gang colors.

I'll be spending this summer in Mobile, Alabama (May 19-August 1).

Then if all goes well I will be leaving for Australia in January!

Despite overwhelming worry over trivial things, I am doing pretty good right now. I have a cute boyfriend who helps with that a lot.

That's my life as of this moment.

Does anybody want a fairly old, 13 or 14 inch tv? The TV itself works fine. You would probably need a new remote because the power button on the remote does not work, so that can get annoying. You can have it for free, I just don't want it in my room anymore.

I run into so many idiots in the course of a day that I sometimes really wonder how there can be so many stupid people in the world. But then every day I hear about another girl from high school who was a dumbass to begin with and hasn't changed a bit who is having a baby and I don't wonder anymore.
