  • My skull? I am bored right the hell out of it. This will no doubt change as soon as the meeting going on in the conference room ends, and that's just fine with me.
  • I loved yesterday. The weather was glorious. The temperature was absolutely perfect and the sky was beautiful and it was just fantabulous all the way around. Also, there was shopping ( Read more... )

I recently got back in touch with my elemetary school BFF! (She found me online.) It's very weird to talk to her, because we do share a lot of memories...but a lot of time has passed! We actually still have a good deal in common, but we're also different in a lot of ways. I hope you have fun getting back in touch!

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm a little worried about awkwardness - what if we're so different now that there's no common ground at all and we have nothing to talk about or worse, we don't like who our old friend has become? - but I'm more curious and excited than worried. At the very least, it will be fun to talk about memories and to find out how she and her family are.

If you just go with the flow and don't expect to necessarily be current-BFFs, I think you will be fine! If she sucks, you can just not email her anymore. :) I bet you'll have some fun talking about the old days, though.

I'm feeling a little nervous about something in this general topic, too! My old friend that got back in touch is moving closer to me (she's not moving for that purpose - it just happens to be the case) and I'm worried that an in-person meeting might be suggested soonish! I'm not ready for that! =O

What are some fun things that you and your old friend did? :)

There were so many things that we did together! I remember going to the base swimming pool with her after school on the last day of seventh grade and burning to a crisp, and thinking while I was suffering and peeling that it was totally worth the ow of the sunburn. I moved away at the end of that year and started school in a new town, and so did she. We'd spend the weekends at each other's houses whenever we could convince our parents to make the drive. I remember her coming for my birthday in 8th grade. We went to Burger King and then my parents dropped us off at the skating rink. We snuck out of my room one night, I think in high school, and were going to go to the river and swim. How insane is that? We didn't get very far, though, because some guys drove by in a big jacked-up truck and whistled and yelled and we chickened out and ran home, much faster than I would have thought we were capable of running. We went to the same school our freshman year of college, and it was quite a drive for her, so she'd often spend the day ( ... )

Soooooooo worth it. I leave it open all day. Today the tiger babies got baths from momma (complete with her carrying around in her mouth, and I nearly died of the cute), then tried to jump on the sleeping momma (who was having none of it and basically just smacked them off to the side), and then they beat the crap out of each other.

I LOVE THEM.

I couldn't resist. I was already watching them when your comment notification came. Oh. My. GOD. I want to pick them up and cuddle them. Or at the very least, wake them up and make them frolic about so I can watch.
