What I Did This Weekend, By The trista

May 30, 2006 12:47

My long weekend included X-Men in the theater and several movies on DVD, a bike ride, a horrible allergy attack (Snot Level = Horrifically High), biscuits and gravy, lots of reading, some cashews, grocery shopping, a very soft stuffed cow with gigantic eyes OMGCUTE, turkey burgers with hummus and red onion, pretending to bond with Crazy Eddie when ( Read more... )

bike, weekend update, ladybits, the rays of the evil day star

I went and saw X-Men this weekend too... sorry to hear about 'the bits' but sounds like a great weekend otherwise

It was a fantabulous weekend! :)

Did you like the movie? I did. I'd heard loads of terrible reviews, but I wasn't disappointed. I think part of that is that my only experience with the whole X-Men thing is the movies, so I don't miss the bits of story that weren't there and I don't notice the things that aren't true to the comics.

Personally I enjoyed the movie... but like you I never read the comic books. Guess it'll be hard to come out with an X-Men IV seeing as how so many of the characters are dead... but then again they did bring Jean back to life from 2 to be in 3 so guess they can still do a 4 *shrug*

To just barge in on the conversation, I liked X-3 too, but I am also a fan of the comics. :)

As for a potential IV- well, there are all those students at the mansion who are growing up... lots of potential new X-Men. And, if they get Angel on the team, they suddenly have more air support. ;)

I'm quite glad they 'pruned' where they did.

Now, did either of you stay to the very end of all the credits?

*giggle*

I'm so refined. ;)

Also, I'm so very pale. Which is much, much better than being so very tomatoey, and that is my other option.

Biscuits and gravy are absolutely heavenly. I had them before I started the healthy foods thing, though. They were my last non-healthy thing.

As for the movie, if you do see it, stay through the very end of the credits. There's something important there.

I don't always stay through the very end, and I'm not sure I would have this time if I hadn't had a hint that I should.

I had some issues with the movie, but that's mainly cause I've been reading the comics since, well I could read. *Grins* BUt I take the movies as seperate from the comics, enjoy them both. take them as seperate worlds. If I didn't I'd be a little ANGRY.

That happens to me a lot when I see movies based on books that I love. I want those movies to be true to the books, damnit!

I hate how my legs look in shorts, so I never wear them, no matter what temperature. Kind of tough during the summer in Ohio, but not so much in Northern California.
