NCIS: What Makes An Alpha?

I know everyone is waiting for the meeting with Abby's contact, but I'm still working with that one. Hopefully, this little nugget will be considered an acceptable treat.

Go Tony! ::does little victory dance:: Like Gibbs, I'm glad that Tony will stand up to him and tell him what's what, alpha or no. Better yet, what Tony had to say was true and worth Gibbs listening to. Hopefully that little eye opener will help Gibbs. I like the idea of it being something Tony said that got that moustache removed ;).

It will help at least temporarily. There are still bridges to rebuild after his little disappearing act.

I had to get rid of the mustache. version one had it happen after he talked to Tony, but then I realized there was another episode before it vanished. Oops. But the Franks thing gave me a perfect opening and suddenly, not only is the mustache gone, but 'the old Gibbs is back'. Which leads into the next bit, but I'm afraid I'm not quite done with it yet.

Hello. *waves*

I'm relatively new to NCIS, both the show and the fandom. I wanted to let you know that I'm really enjoying this series. You're a very good writer, but what I'm finding so impressive is that you're managing to pull off three fairly difficult things simultaneously: You're writing a true AU with the shifting thing. You are seamlessly weaving it into canon. And you're doing both of these things while keeping the characterizations dead on. Like I said, it's impressive.

Would you mind if I friended you so that I could follow along on the journey?

I only got sucked into the whole thing last April or so. I was studying for a big test (or rather staring at the text book while trying to ignore it) when USA was playing a marathon. Much more pleasant than hydrolic theory. I got hooked, and managed to hook my husband the next weekend ( ... )

Certainly hope some more is coming asap as I'm starting to get cold turkey with the wait :-)

Tomorrow. I think. And if it helps, it's long.

Ha! Yes of course - that whole gerbil on the lip thing makes so much more sense now! Why did I not realise it before?

Your story fits in so beautifully around the onscreen cannon, that it's sorta scary. In a totally wonderful way ;)

And Tony calling Gibbs on his stupidity is just right for a strong beta like he is.

I originally had it come off after talking with Tony, as though sorting things out knocked the world back into alignment enough that Gibbs wanted it gone. But then I realized I had a missing episode. And the rest of it just blossomed from there. It was so perfect. Scarily so, but it just makes so much sense. I have so much trouble with the image of Gibbs trotting along after Franks with his arms full of gear like Tim. Gah.

Yes, he's a strong beta and I have canon to back me up on that. Which isn't to say he doesn't get slapped back for it, but he does say what needs to be said.

Another nicely done segment. I hated that moustache and was glad to see it go. This makes it an even more significant event.

Hated it myself. I was originally going to have it go at the end of the conversation with Tony, but then I realized it stuck around for another episode. Oops. So I started thinking, and Franks showed up, and it all made sense. I adore this piece.

Thank you. I'm glad your enjoying. There is more come come, one of these days. It's just flowing slower than it was.
