It's after 11pm and the temp is 27C humidex 37C (81F/98). Now, I do realize some of you have it much worse, but I'm a northern child... And on top of it all mom is having a hard time breathing because the air is so thickAnd the power went out. It took about an hour to come back up - an hour without any fans, without any way to keep mom comfortable

I think we got your weather down here for a bit! :P I'll take it, it's SO nice to have a break from the humidity...but it'll be back.

Oh, so THAT'S what happened. Well, I'm happy to help out a friend, but I'd be much obliged if you could return it via courier - I'll be happy to pay the costs...
Mom had a spectacularly bad night. She got up all nauseous and trembly and achy. I sent her back to bed and went out to do the chores.
I don't want to make too much noise while she's resting, but once she's up to break out the air conditioner. It's EXPENSIVE to run, but she needs some relief. I'll deal with the bill when it comes. I figure even operating for 3 or 4 hours will be helpful.
Normally, I'd just go to a movie, a coffee shop, the mall for a few hours of relief. Mom is not up to any of those options. *sigh* this too shall pass...

I spent most of the last few weeks under the AC unit, but my utilities are included in my rent--I know I'm lucky that way.
