My TV boyfriends, let me show you them.

I've been thinking about the TV guys that I've liked. There are a lot of guys who are just randomly pretty, but I mean the ones that really turned my crank. And, not surprisingly, I have a type. Not just tall, dark, and handsome (although, yeah), but a character type. You know how some women like the bad boys? Not me. I like the squeaky-clean, ( Read more... )

OMG! It's some kind of scary of how much agree with you. David James Elliott? Me, right here ::hides::. Oh dear!

This asks for a guilty picture post of my TV boy-friends ::giggles::

I haven't fallen for John Barrowman yet

ETA: Early Edition rocked!!!

Definitely do a TV-boyfriend-picture-post! *encourages*

If you haven't already, try watching the last five episodes of S1 of the new Doctor Who: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Boom Town, and Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways. It's the introduction of Jack to the series, and IMO it's Jack at his best, especially in the season-ending two-parter.

Jack and RayK fall, for me, into the category of guys who are looking for someone to expect them to be better. And when that person comes along, they live up to those expectations. In classic Who, Turlough's very much the same type. I'm fond of that type.

As far as other types of mine go, to me, the most fun characters to play with are the morally ambiguous ones. Where do they draw the line, and what circumstances would make them cross that line? That's a question I really like to play with.

Oh, I definitely think the morally ambiguous ones are more interesting for writing (and reading). And even the nice ones can be tempted; I really like fic where Fraser (or whoever) is horribly tempted to cross his own self-imposed lines. I mean, look at canon, even--"Victoria's Secret" has to be one (two?) of the most popular eps.

But as far as me personally getting all hot and bothered...it's the good guys, every time. :D

Oh, me too. And it seems like the really good guys mess up bad when they do step out of line. None of these little trivial slips. Which is maybe why they feel like they have to keep themselves under that kind of control in the first place.

Like Superman in the third movie, right? When he went bad, he was REALLY bad.

(Maybe that's one thing I find so hot about those kinds of guys. That they *could* be really bad...and all that control...and...*runs off for a cold shower*)

You don't me, but I'm sure you'll be able to see from my avatar that I share the Kyle Chandler love. :-) I'm the same way. I don't like the bad boys, I like the good guys. Scott Bakula, as Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap was another one.

SAM BECKETT!!!

That guy, that show, broke my heart when it ended the way it did ...

I never got a chance to watch Quantum Leap very much, but I know a lot of people who liked it.

Kyle Chandler as Gary was such a sweetheart!

OK, when you're caught up with absolutely everything else (ha!) we have to get you watching Quantum Leap. You would adore it, because Sam is such an adorable genius and the nicest guy ever. Plus everyone should know Al Calavicci. *nods*

But yeah, same as sam80853 I still ache a bit when I think about the finale too.

Hmmm. *is thinking about Quantum Leap/Eureka crossover possibilities*

But... I can't stop laughing over that last pic OMG, too funny

Isn't that the best pic EVER? I can't get over it!

Gary Hobson was perhaps my first "adorkable" guy, if you don't count Clark Kent. JAG--well, DJE is just WHOA HOT.

I'd seen Kyle Chandler in a few things before EE, I usually liked his roles (I haven't watched Friday night lights though even though he stars in it)

And David James Elliot? *drools* WHOA HOT is right!

Did you see the George Strait movie "Pure Country"? Kyle Chandler plays the stand-in who tried to take his job.

(If you haven't seen it, don't rush off to rent it on that account. As an actor, George is a really good singer.)

Early Edition, woo hoo!

I was also very fond of Dean Cain's Superman, but I think more for the interaction between him and Teri Hatcher's Lois than just as himself. I liked JAG, and while I'd actually been noticing DJE since early years including a real stinker of a series he did with Shannon Tweed called Fly By Night and the five seconds The Untouchables series remake was on, at the same time there's something about him that's a little too clean cut for me to really go gaga over him.

I have a similar problem to a larger extent with Fraser. Thinking about Fraser in a sexual/romantic way seems to almost border on the sacrilegious. Obviously I do somewhat better with Geoffrey Tennant, though there I run into my problems with actors (I've been romantically involved with serious actors and I didn't like it).

I guess I just missed the Colin Firth Mister Darcy boat. But that's OK, because I'll take Richard Armitage as John Thornton in North and South over any Darcy any day ( ... )

Oddly, I can vaguely imagine Jack Harkness/Fraser, but I can't remotely slash Fraser with either Ray or anyone else on the show... he's FRASER. Which probably makes no sense *shrugs*

Did I tell you that my Jack/Fraser story turned into a Fraser/RayK story? Jack and Fraser just become close friends, as Fraser is the only person who's trusted Jack in a really long time. Of course Jack would *like* to be more, but he can tell that Fraser has feelings for Ray (even if Fraser and Ray haven't figured it out yet), so he doesn't want to mess that up for them.

I *started* this pairing (as far as I know, anyway) and I can't manage to write it! o_0 So far you and hellenebright are the only ones I know of who've managed it.

I have no problem reading Fraser/RayV, if it's well written, but I find very little believable fic. To me, the relationship is exactly as it's portrayed onscreen--as close friends, almost like brothers. Oddly enough, I can believe Ray/Ray, or F/K/V, sooner than F/V.

*grins* because of you I can totally see Jack/Fraser. But I can see how your story took that kind of a turn.

I can see Fraser and the Rays (either) as brothers like best friends, but most slash stories don't ring true for me.
