I've been thinking about the TV guys that I've liked. There are a lot of guys who are just randomly pretty, but I mean the ones that really turned my crank. And, not surprisingly, I have a type. Not just tall, dark, and handsome (although, yeah), but a character type. You know how some women like the bad boys? Not me. I like the squeaky-clean,

Jack and RayK fall, for me, into the category of guys who are looking for someone to expect them to be better. And when that person comes along, they live up to those expectations. In classic Who, Turlough's very much the same type. I'm fond of that type.

As far as other types of mine go, to me, the most fun characters to play with are the morally ambiguous ones. Where do they draw the line, and what circumstances would make them cross that line? That's a question I really like to play with.

Oh, I definitely think the morally ambiguous ones are more interesting for writing (and reading). And even the nice ones can be tempted; I really like fic where Fraser (or whoever) is horribly tempted to cross his own self-imposed lines. I mean, look at canon, even--"Victoria's Secret" has to be one (two?) of the most popular eps.

But as far as me personally getting all hot and bothered...it's the good guys, every time. :D

Oh, me too. And it seems like the really good guys mess up bad when they do step out of line. None of these little trivial slips. Which is maybe why they feel like they have to keep themselves under that kind of control in the first place.

(Maybe that's one thing I find so hot about those kinds of guys. That they *could* be really bad...and all that control...and...*runs off for a cold shower*)
