The crew had made it to the village where the Tapestry was supposedly hidden, but for now, they had to wait. According to the Rom, the path to where the Tapestry was hidden would only open once night fell.
That left them with a fairly good chunk of time on their hands, as well as a rather large Rom settlement to explore in the meantime.

He rather suspected this test of 'worthiness' would be brutal at best. Given the circumstances, if the crew was expected to prove 'worthy' in any sense of being able to alter the very destiny of the multiverse itself, at this point...

It was just one of those things one did when one had to sit through linear time and while he wouldn't call himself necessarily bored, he had to admit he was looking for something to do. The Doctor shrugged out of his jacket as he snooped his way around one of the walls, looking about two seconds (maybe less) from giving the surface a good lick and seeing what that could tell him. Tempting...
All in all, he just hoped this mission would go a lot more smoothly than the last one. The Rom seemed polite and well-adjusted. So had the Oryans, not that he necessarily faulted them for what happened back there. Put would-be goddesses, a big planet sized ego and a firepit that was a poor excuse for a volcano and of course you'd get...well, that mess. The Doctor moved further down the wall and stopped to run his hand along the seams...or almost lack of, they were that smooth and flush up against one another that it almost felt like one piece if ( ... )

"Let's see," she noted. "What else do we need?" The plants were good to help continually replentish supplies, but what else could she get to extend their food's shelf life?
