Penelope hasn't figured out any Sensorium etiquette yet. She pokes her head in, her expression eager. She stops, awed at the sight of Central Park in spring. She's always felt a connection to the season spring, though she never joined the Spring Court.
But this means the room is in use, and she shouldn't stand around gaping. "Sorry," she says and begins to back out. Then she catches the sound of slow, shuddering breaths - the kind that preface tears.
Her backing out turns to stepping farther into the Sensorium.
Kate wasn't noticing her just yet, her frame starting to shake a little. She was murmuring something under her breath, trying to focus on calming down. There was a sniffling sound. Then another.
Zuko's not familiar with New York. So he gives the distant buildings and their strange architecture a suspicious, analytical look before casting his gaze around the rest of the scene. A garden, sort of - it has the look of a cultivated meadow, but the flowers are sparse, almost unplanned, very different from the elaborate parks and gardens of his youth. A good, big space for running around. He almost expects to see kids chasing each other
( ... )
She glanced up and quickly wiped her eyes. Kate used the tree to support herself standing up before replying, "Thanks, usually better. Been some bad days you know?"
He can remember her from the tables in the medlab - one of the infected. A slight shudder runs through Zuko's body as he thinks of it again - of something else controlling his body, speaking his words. More than horrifying.
"I'm Zuko. Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation. I'm pleased to meet you."
Shawn's being his usaly chipper self, and pretty much bouncing around from one spot to the next. (mostly to avoid anyone who would hit him for the fake psychic thing.)
"...so, what's up?" Shanw says, seeing Kate in the Sensorium.
"Y'know, I may have been lying about the whole psychic thing? But there's a reason I've been able to get away with it. Namely my dad taught me to notice pretty much everything. That includes being able to tell when people are lying to me."
Well, looky-here, just who someone who's having a tough emotional time needs to see when they're, well, having a tough emotional time: Mr. Unsympathetic, himself. Sawyer stands in the doorway of the Sensorium with a bottle of Jack Daniels in his hand. He's been drinking a lot since he got on board but, then again, what else was there to do? It's just too bad no one else can get to his stash.
From his spot, he stood taking in the holographic projections being produced by the sensorium. The amused smirk on his face said that he was rather impressed.
"Well, idn't this Trekky," he commented, glancing at the only other person in the room.
"Riight," Sawyer said sounding--surprise--unconvinced. He took a long swig from the bottle of whiskey. "So we're just supposed to come in here and forget that we're walkin' around in livin', breathin' lily-bad suits? Yeah," he rolled his eyes. "It's totally workin'."
She shrugged at that, and went to fetch her bow, "It's either that or enjoy walking around the creepy city. Oh wait, you have to be careful where you go, or that you don't go alone. So yeah, kind of limited on options?"

"Kate," she says gently, not moving closer, to see how the young woman will react. She wants to help, but is wary of pushing too far too soon.

"Oh hey," She started to stand up again, using the tree briefly as support.

He bows, stiffly and formally.
"Is this your home?"

"Kate Bishop, also Hawkeye of the Young Avengers. It's an honor to meet you, your highness."
She then added, "Some of it, I'm from New York, and this is Central Park. Just wanted something familiar for once."

"It's just how it is. Something Stacy set up so we can pretend we're not on some weird plant ship."
