It was purely coincidental that Aeneas happened to be walking by the Sensorium then, because quite frankly he had absolutely no idea where he was.

”I think my terrible sense of direction must have something to do with my bad memory,” mused the creature, looking cautiously at the walls around him while he walked, steps eerily quiet despite his relative size and squishy meat floors, ”Can’t remember where the heck I came from or where the heck I’m going…”

But there had to be a room around there somewhere, right? Perhaps that was all Stacy needed to hear in order for Aeneas to see the same thing that the young woman inside the labs was ( ... )

Tempe was about not to answer whoever it was that had interrupted her, but then she had to go and look up. And then her eyes widened to about the size of a dinner plate.

For a few awkward moments, she did nothing but stare.

"What are you?" She finally aske, finally managing to find her voice.

For the second time since he’d arrived on this ship, Aeneas could not answer the simplest of questions.

“I…that is…”

He turned around, eyes almost as wide as those staring back at him, although his expression was more on the side of embarrassment than fear.

“…Well I don’t really know.”

Aeneas scratched his ear and took on a more comfortable stance, now that he wasn’t under the threat of being attacked. From what he’d seen at the original meeting near the pods, humans were quite unpredictable. You couldn’t blame the guy for being cautious.

“It’s a long story,” he murmured, looking at the floor, “and it’s not…not important. You can simply call me Aeneas, if you’d like.”

He was open to suggestions.

“What should I call you?”

For perhaps the first time in a long time, Tempe honestly didn't know what to say. There standing before her was the most bizare looking creature she'd ever seen (and being on this ship - that was saying something).

And he obviously didn't know what he was, which was a little hard for her to understand. How anyone wouldn't know what they were, was a little beyond even Tempe's range of logic.

She cleared her throat and leaned back in her seat. "I'm Doctor Temperance Brennan...." She replied though trailed off a little. "How can you not know what you are?" She demanded, unable to leave that alone.

Marco had been hoping to muck about in one of the sensoriums. He was not happy to find it already occupied. By some lady and a bunch of bones.

"Let me guess. That's Yorrick."

"I have no idea who this is," Tempe frowned looking up from her work. Her frown deepened seeing the teenage boy standing there. "This isn't a place for someone your age," she informed him before turning back to her work. Like that was enough for him to get the hint to leave.

Too young? Too young?!

Lady, Marco had seen plenty of dead bodies before. And he sure as hell wasn't going to just meekly wonder off just because she said he was too young.

So he walked up to her work bench and leaned forward to give the skull a poke. "So. Which bit does this connect to again?"

Why yes, Marco was trying to be as irritating as possible. Was it working?

Tempe's eyes widened at the teenager's apparent disrespect for the skull she was working on, and without even thinking she smacked at him hand. "Don't TOUCH! You could possibly break it!!" Oh yes, Tempe is very protective of her work.

She glared at him and pulled the part of the skull she'd glued back together protectively toward her.

Kelly had stepped into the Sensorium hoping to get in more workout time. It wasn't exactly that she needed it, what with her enhancements helping boost her natural abilities by at least tenfold. But she liked to push her limits. To see how much stronger and faster she could push herself to become. There was a limit to what a human body, even an enhanced one like hers could do, of course. But she had yet to find it. And she wanted to push right up until her toes were nudging at it ( ... )

Temperance was currently gluing pieces of the saucer-shaped Occipital bone back together. Glancing up at the woman she shook her head. "Not particularly. I was just trying to keep myself occupied."

She nodded. She knew the feeling well enough. She hated inaction. Every second of it seemed to grate on her nerves. It made her jumpy. Erratic. She had to be doing something. She would have gone mad otherwise. "It's all we can do these days, I suppose."

A pause as she watched the woman work. She'd seen forensics work once or twice. But none of them had seemed quite as...absorbed by it as this woman did. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Kelly."

It was more true for Tempe than Kelly might have imagined. There wasn't particularily a lot of work for a Forensic Antropologist to do onboard a ship like Stacy. So she ended up having to keep herself busy with gluing not really there skulls together. Even Temperance knew that was a little lame.

She looked up and offered Kelly a vague smile. "I'm Doctor Temperance Brennan," she said as always giving her full name along with the Doctor. "What is it you do?"

Michael stood grinning at the entrance to the lab. This was partly because Tempe had noticed him standing there and also partly because he was finely wearing something more to his taste. His dull plants suit had turned into a slick well tailored suit and he was now wearing a pair of gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses.

"Sorry to disturb you." He said taking off his sunglasses. "What are you doing?"

"Reconstructing a skull," Tempe answered as she picked up a fragment of bone and examined it before putting it back on the table. Looking over at him, her eyebrow arched a little. "Did you need something?"

He walked over to the table to get a better look.

"Not really, just getting used to this place, you know. Looking around, checking places out. This "Sensorium" is an interesting place, how does it work exactly?" He said while examining the skull. "So what happened to this unlucky guy?"

She was quiet for a moment, trying to remember what she'd been told about how the sesoriums worked. "I believe that the simulations are based on telepathic and verbal suggestions, and other small details are filled in by the AI's." She's not sure if that's exactly how they work but she's pretty sure that's what she'd been told.

Her attention shifted to the skull she was working on. "He was killed in World War I. This was part of a case I'd worked on before I came here."

Jamie is a bit bored, so he wanders over to the Sensoriums, with vague thoughts of maybe going for a walk by the loch. But the pod he picks happens to be occupied - and from a quick look, with something much appealing than what he had in mind. He wanders up to get a closer look at what Temperance is doing, and makes a small face as he sees the skeleton.

"Och. He looks like he's seen better days." The skeleton, while vaguely interesting, is not /nearly/ as fascinating as some of the items around the lab. There's a few things he recognizes - microscopes, safety glasses and such. But some of the more high-tech equipment isn't familiar, and therefore, catches his attention.

He reaches toward an item he doesn't recognize with a curious expression. "Hey, what's this?"

Her gaze lifted long enough to send Jaime a look that spoke volumes of what she thought about his profound statement concerning the skeleton - which wasn she wasn't very amused.

She didn't say anything though, just hunched over a little bit more and carefully continued gluing the shards together.

"Hmmm?" she murmured before looking up. "Oh, that's Angela's 3-dimensional graphics simulation system," she explained as though that should be enough for him to know what it was.

He is oblivious to the unamused look - that's nothing new for him, after all. Instead, he makes his way around the simulator, looking for any obvious buttons or things that would turn it on.

When the woman replies explaining the item, he ahhs softly, pretending for all the world like he knows what she's means. "Oh, aye. That."

He pokes experimentally at the plate in the middle of the simulator. "Who's Angela?"

She almost told him not to poke at it because he might break it, but then she remembered it wasn't real. Sighing, she set the bone pieces back on the table and rose to her feet.

Moving over to the simulator, she smiled softly. "She's a Forensic Artist and my friend." She looked over at him. "She's quite talented. She's able to take a skull and give us an idea of what it might have looked like alive."
