Marco had been hoping to muck about in one of the sensoriums. He was not happy to find it already occupied. By some lady and a bunch of bones.

"Let me guess. That's Yorrick."

"I have no idea who this is," Tempe frowned looking up from her work. Her frown deepened seeing the teenage boy standing there. "This isn't a place for someone your age," she informed him before turning back to her work. Like that was enough for him to get the hint to leave.

Too young? Too young?!

Lady, Marco had seen plenty of dead bodies before. And he sure as hell wasn't going to just meekly wonder off just because she said he was too young.

So he walked up to her work bench and leaned forward to give the skull a poke. "So. Which bit does this connect to again?"

Why yes, Marco was trying to be as irritating as possible. Was it working?

Tempe's eyes widened at the teenager's apparent disrespect for the skull she was working on, and without even thinking she smacked at him hand. "Don't TOUCH! You could possibly break it!!" Oh yes, Tempe is very protective of her work.

She glared at him and pulled the part of the skull she'd glued back together protectively toward her.

Marco raised an eyebrow. Touchy, much? "It's already broken. See, all those cracks and stuff? That means it's been smashed into lots and lots of tiny little pieces."

"Which is exactly the reason I'm putting it back together," Tempe muttered, glaring once more at the boy before turning her attention to the tiny bone shards before her.

Carefully she begins pushing the pieces around, almost as they were pieces of a puzzle.

"What, you planning on turning it into a decorative candle?" Marco said sarcastically. While leaning forward to start pushing the pieces of bone that looked like they went with each other together.

"What are you DOING?!" Tempe cried, pushing to her feet. "You just can't come in here... And start.. TOUCHING things!" Tempe cried and leaned over, smacking at his hands again.

"If you must know, I plan on putting it back together so I can give it a face," she frowned and skirted around the table and slid between Marco and the table. "And you touching things is preventing me from finishing it."

Marco pulled his hands back, but he couldn't resist a grin. This woman was weird, but she was also really fun to needle. "You mean this isn't an interactive exhibit?" he said, with mock innocence.

When Tempe decided to get in between Marco and the table, Marco decided to stand on his toes - okay, okay, so Marco was short and this woman was unnaturally tall - and peer over her shoulder. "But he has a face! See, he's got a nose and mouth and two big black gaping hole eyes."

"Why shouldn't I?" Marco said, narrowing his eyes. "Yeah. This guy's dead. Maybe he died in some horrible, painful, excruciating way. And maybe you want to just look at that and say 'Gee, doesn't the world suck?', but you know, if that skull were one of my relatives I know they'd prefer that I tried to find the funny side of things rather than just sit around and wallow in misery."

He glared at her for a moment, then took another peek at the bones. "And by the way, that one and that one obviously go together," he said, pointing at two of the fragments.

"You don't even know how wrong you are." Tempe shook her head. "I look at this and I see a person who no longer has a voice, a person whose family is searching for answers and a person who deserves someone to stand up and find out what happened to them. I do this to give them their identities back when it's been ripped away from them. I do this so maybe they and their families can have some sort of peace."

She rose to her feet and as she did, the skull fragments all disappeared. "I don't have the ability to make a joke when it has to do with something like this. Perhaps that makes me weird to you, but honestly I couldn't care less what you think of me or what I do."

"You say you're respecting the families of the dead, but you just went and said how I'd deal is wrong. And I never said it wasn't serious," Marco said, his voice harsh. "And yeah, you are wearing. And freaking sad too."

"What are you talking about?" Tempe asked giving him a blank look. "I never even implied how you'd deal would be wrong. I was talking about your statement on how perhaps I just look at things and thing how bad the world sucks. I'm pretty confident that's what you had just said."

Marco just glared at her. What the hell was with this lady? "Yeah, well you seem to have a pretty negative outlook to me."

[[ooc: fff I just realised. Pretend the "wearing" in the previous tag is actually "weird", okay? orz]]

She continued to stare at the young man in complete bewilderment. "How did you even come to that conclusion? I merely asked to stop making jokes about something that I find to be important."
