Wildlands South ended this weekend. As I am prone to sentimental nostalgia, it struck me most when Louis talked about distribution of the campaign properties. No one will need a "serpentman" tabard again. We can finally blow up The Heart in somebody's back yard. A casual post from Asshole #6 to the Madrigal eGroups list has had the surprising effect of putting that game in a better light in my view. My enthusiasm is increased not through "hate floon" for this guy, but because his bad behavior has highlighted how nice everyone else is.

Wildlands was fantastic. It was epic and passionate and everything I could've hoped it would be and then some. It was the perfect sendoff, and I'm so proud of myself and all of us for the job we've done in the past five years.

My two favorite LARPs share one common quality, and I think that's no coincidence with them being my favorites. Neither Wildlands nor Everhate are mired in the feudal system.
