An Experiment into the Benign

Dec 08, 2010 12:13

Life, it put it mildly, has been very sweet. I have a full plate of projects, work continues to be an enjoyment (even among the things i don't enjoy that come with it), and socially it's like MFF is still happening. My stress has been low in most respects and even on downing days something has happened to pick it right back up to make me smile and ( Read more... )

Part 3 of the three part question which is not being put in the middle, despite its being displayed last.

Give us a list of three things that do or might make you happy, and why. Not just "aww, that's cute" smiles but make you want to shout to the world, bounce for joy happy.

Either your question is too constricting or my knowledge and experience is too limited. I've thought the longest on this question so far and I'm coming up very short on phrasing a reply. This is all because I'm try to remember events, even ones that should stand out. I can give you three things that made me happy but only one (and that's due to it being recently) that gave me a bouncy/joy feeling. These are not in order of significances ( ... )

Part 4 of my three part question which . . . hrm, didn't plan ahead on this. Actually, lthrboy my roommate asked.

What is the most profound event that you have experienced or witnessed? Either to you or near you?

Alternatively, he would ask you the standard Barbara Walters question of:

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

I really haven't the slightest idea which of those two questions is more difficult to answer XD
9/11 strikes a few bells from sitting in school and remember watching how it captivated everyone's attention.
That's when I knew I needed to blow up a building to get the girl I wanted.
That's when I learned Islam is the religion for me.
I really REALLY needed to poop but the teacher forced us to watch the TV.
People, including myself were moved by the event but I don't see myself doing anything really different in my life that was because of that. Like, I still get in airplanes to put in mildly.
I'll keep thinking on this but so far Im not able to pin down a single event that changed some part of my life, good or bad and for things I can remember it feels difficult to rate them against each other.

As for a tree, I'd be an Oak. A mighty mighty Oak. This I will think on as well a bit more...

Your constantly smiling and mildly condescending attitude makes you seem like you have the world on the string, between long posts about your time spent with friends, enjoyment of your job, or pictures of your lavish family home. From the outside, it seems like a flawless, carefree life worthy of anyone's envy, but when questioned, you replied "things aren't so rosy."

Question: What's wrong?

These are separate events that are being linked together from your perspective. I've found that actually writing, typing out exactly how I talk, helps my formation of thoughts and sentences be more clear (at least to me) and assists readers that have spoken with me in person a fair amount. This isn't implying we haven't spoken a fair amount in person, because I'd say we have, but w/o a doubt agreeing, does appear to be condescending when put into text format. It is the opposite if that can be stated ( ... )

Ok, in the same vein, you've once again brought up "we haven't spoken a fair amount in person." We've known each other for four and a half years now yet basically remain strangers, and in this post, you decidedly choose to again "leave me with the information I already know."

Are you aware that in these four years, you've only called me by my name twice? Or that you've cut down at least two of my crushes by telling me that "they wouldn't like someone like me"?

There seems to be multiple questions in this one, including the prior so I'll try to address all of them. However, please remember to put all new questions as a new line. I also said Im going to gear the answers towards each person and my knowledge of them and which is why I'd prefer users logged in vs questions from Anom but respect the Anom just the same ( ... )

As the year wraps up, what are you looking forward to in 2011?

Every year for the past 6 or 7 years, I've based how the year will go on 12:01 Am to 11:59 PM on Jan 1. I've broken down the time so it stretches to represent months of the year or large chunks. All this inside my head. It's totally crazy I know but it's a little ritual I do and they have never paired up to represent the year. But additional truth be added I don't think I ever remember fully how the day went a couple months out.
So that all being said, I have no clue what to see or expect or want in the new year heh. Maybe the train ride will be different this time around :)

Australia has been a token in my back pocket for a long standing. However I haven't put any thought into actually moving or a place I'd like to live. For the time being it's just been where the job is at and maybe if I have enough money someday I'll move to Australia. Or some other location once looking into.
