The Worst is Over (I hope)

Both of my breasts were removed on Wednesday, October 16.  The operation took longer than I thought it would, around five hours instead of three.  My sister was there for me the whole time, bless her.  I know it was a longer day for her than for me ( Read more... )

oh you must feel like you got run over by a tank!
and they're draining you dry.
i don't like tight things either.

the girl who lived back of us
was told she had the gene for breast cancer
and had it done before anything even showed.

at least they're starting to realize people heal faster
when they don't hurt as much.

Hope you heal fast
glad you can be home
and mom too. the pups will be happy too.

air hugs
and golden healing light
fill you from the top of your head
to the tips of your toes ..

sweet dreams

Thank you for the hugs and golden healing light wishes, Faunhaert. Yesterday, especially, I felt as if I'd been runover by a Mac truck. I'm taking a prescription painkiller that works well, but causes costipation, ugh.

Next week I'll hopefully get all the tubes removed and then I can really feel like I'm starting to heal.

Wow that was radical! Had no idea that would have to be done. You are very brave I must say...all my thoughts are with you these days...:)

Thank you, mozache. An actual "radical" mastectomy would have included the chest muscles and all of the lymph nodes, I believe. Luckily, I didn't have to have that.

geeze I must have missed an update somewhere, I did not know it was this serious. I am glad you are recuperating now and that there was someone to support you through such a serious surgery. Hugs and healing vibes to you, I hope you are back to normal and stronger than ever soon!

Thank you, tricia, for the hugs and healing vibes. They say (women that have been through this surgery) that it takes about a month to feel back to normal again, so I'm looking forward to Next month around this time.
