I spent my entire Saturday yesterday trying to help people affected by the hurricaine. First, a couple who booked to Cancun (where Dean is supposed to hit on Tuesday). They ended up rebooking their flights to Liberia Costa Rica. All I could find them was a hotel in Playa Tambor. They were leaving today!
Then a family leaving last night to Jamaica. I was on the phone with them and the hurricaine desk at the tour operator for a couple of hours. Ended up getting him new dates - in October. Still hurricaine season! I'm going to the Caribbean in hurricaine season, but by that time, it should have slowed down a bit.
I haven't had any cruisers with any troubles, thankfully.
I did have some people going to Hawaii when the hurricaine hit over there, but everything's gone well so far. None of these issues were my clients, but I was helping out at another office. It was mayhem yesterday!
Hurricaine season for travel agents is kind of like tax season for accountants. Sheesh!
