More examples of Tyra's hypocrisy

May 14, 2008 11:44

We all know Tyra is a hypocrite, but this cycle there are some obvious examples of things that the top 4 girls have/have done that have gotten other girls kicked off in other Cycles. It is really hampering my enjoyment of the Cycle, as I feel Tyra is playing favorites ( Read more... )

Ugh, I agree. The Whitney thing bothers me the most, honestly. I loved Sarah.

Whitney is a few sizes larger or at least it appears so. Sarah was too heavy to be a regular model while she was too thin to be plus-size so she was in a tough place but I def think Whitney fits into the plus-size category. I loved Sarah though, I thought she was really talented and awesome.

Except Anya's accent isn't hard to understand. At all.

Seriously.

I have never once had trouble understanding the girl.

I find her accent kind of endearing.

She is difficult for me to understand, especially when she is talking quickly. She sounds like she's trying to talk around a tennis ball in her mouth.

I agree. I actually think her accent is really cute. I have no trouble understanding her.

I'll have to disagree about Dominique. If they weren't harping on her for looking like a drag queen they were harping on her for looking old. And at the Elle Mcpherson lingerie shoot, the guest judge said he thought she was the mother of someone on set. Not too mention how many times people have said she doesn't look fresh. Which is just a nice way of saying you look old.

Yeah, Dominique got more than her fair share of old comments, if not from the judges then from other people.

I think the problem between Danielle's accent and Anya's accent was that Danielle's was hard to understand and there were a bunch of people (Twiggy, Nigel, some guest judges) who mentioned they just could NOT understand Danielle when she spoke. Sure they were unfortunate enough to end up in Thailand where I'm sure an accent mattered more than in Rome, but still ( ... )

Yeah well Tyra never had a problem understanding Danielle either. Blame that on Twiggy (and Nigel). I personally never had any problem understanding Danielle or Anya. But whatevs.

I always understood Danielle, her accent just happened to be a thick Southern accent, which can be harder to get than whatever voice Anya has.

Anya's accent and Danielle's accent are completely different things. Danielle's accent wasn't that bad, and it was something that she could easily train herself out of in a few weeks. Anya doesn't have the kind of time to adjust her accent that much, as she's barely understandable most of the time, and they also haven't really had a reason to talk about it, since the only commercial they did was the foreign language one in which everyone sucked. C6 had an English CG commercial in the middle of the cycle, so they had more time and opportunity to bring it up ( ... )

Everyone sees things differently.

This is very true. All I hear from people is that it's so difficult to understand Anya when she talks, but I just don't get it. I think she's quite clear, even though her accent is obviously there.

And agreed on the missing photoshoot. Robin, Anna, and Monique missed it on purpose, while Fatima honestly tried to get back on time.

I agree - I think Anya is perfectly understandable. I think her accent is adorable, too. (But I also never had a problem with Danielle's accent).

I didn't either, but I think it could also be because I'm from the south so I'm kind of used to it. I myself don't have even a slight hint of one, but I'm around it, a lot.
