More examples of Tyra's hypocrisy

May 14, 2008 11:44

We all know Tyra is a hypocrite, but this cycle there are some obvious examples of things that the top 4 girls have/have done that have gotten other girls kicked off in other Cycles. It is really hampering my enjoyment of the Cycle, as I feel Tyra is playing favorites ( Read more... )

Anya's accent and Danielle's accent are completely different things. Danielle's accent wasn't that bad, and it was something that she could easily train herself out of in a few weeks. Anya doesn't have the kind of time to adjust her accent that much, as she's barely understandable most of the time, and they also haven't really had a reason to talk about it, since the only commercial they did was the foreign language one in which everyone sucked. C6 had an English CG commercial in the middle of the cycle, so they had more time and opportunity to bring it up ( ... )

Everyone sees things differently.

This is very true. All I hear from people is that it's so difficult to understand Anya when she talks, but I just don't get it. I think she's quite clear, even though her accent is obviously there.

And agreed on the missing photoshoot. Robin, Anna, and Monique missed it on purpose, while Fatima honestly tried to get back on time.

I agree - I think Anya is perfectly understandable. I think her accent is adorable, too. (But I also never had a problem with Danielle's accent).

I didn't either, but I think it could also be because I'm from the south so I'm kind of used to it. I myself don't have even a slight hint of one, but I'm around it, a lot.

I've always been kind of puzzled by that, actually! I have several friends in Texas and Georgia. Some have accents, and some don't. How does that happen? Is there an even split of accent and non-accent? Are there pockets of people with or without?

You'll be even more puzzled, then, but the fact that probably only one or two people I went to school with actually had slight southern accents. Granted I also live in Virginia, so we're pretty much "Northern South" but still. I think it's weird, too.

City vs rural, really.

I don't have much of one because I grew up in a largely populated area of my city. People from the northside and westside, where it is more rural, have stronger accents.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the insight!

There's what JoysofJess said and then there's also some of us who lose our accent or begin to lose it. Like take me, I grew up in the COUNTRY country near Georgia and had an accent but the more I was around my boyfriend (now husband), I started losing it and picking up abit on his.. which is a Denver, CO and Oregon combo.
