More examples of Tyra's hypocrisy

May 14, 2008 11:44

We all know Tyra is a hypocrite, but this cycle there are some obvious examples of things that the top 4 girls have/have done that have gotten other girls kicked off in other Cycles. It is really hampering my enjoyment of the Cycle, as I feel Tyra is playing favorites ( Read more... )

1. Anya's accent wasn't like Danielle's southern accent, which most people attribute to being slow, stupid or from the ghetto.
2. Whitney doesn't look any skinnier than when she started the show (in my opinion).
3. Tyra did give Fatima crap for missing her shoot, but her body of work was still better than Stacy Ann's photo (and body of work). Shannon also missed a photo shoot and she made it to the final two.
4. Dominique might look old because she has such strong bone structure, which they've pointed out.

Unfortunately a lot of people attribute southern accents to meaning either that the person sounds slow or stupid, or that they are slow or stupid. It's so irritating.

I think it unfair that people mention Shannon missing a photoshoot. I mean, YEAH she missed it, but Robin missed it as well. As far as I'm concerned, unless they were willing to bend the rules then and eliminate both girls (which obviously wasn't going to happen in the first cycle), Shannon's missing-of-photo is irrelevant unless you guys take into consideration that she made final 2 but Elyse didn't.

Not to mention that Fatima has been in the bottom two so many times yet the first time Katarzyna was in the bottom two, she was eliminated.

Same goes for Whitney who was in the bottom 2 two consecutive times.

This has happened with a lot of people (ex. cycle 6's Jade stayed when Wendy and Mollie Sue left)

Accents are such a non-issue to me. I find it kind of ridiculous when the judges criticize a girl for having one.

Like 95% of the people I work with have thick accents. Could you imagine if my manager suddenly took them aside, "I'm sorry, but if you want to represent the American workforce you're going to have to change that accent. Just try and talk like an American newscaster. Then I'll accept you."

Natasha had an accent too but no one ever said anything to her about it.

And then there was that Kathy girl (also from Danielle's cycle) who got criticized (and eliminated) for having a thick southern accent.

I guess there's a double standard for American accents?

Except that they didn't have a problem with Robin's accent and at some point Mr. Jay mentioned that accents were a good and people in the modeling business found it endearing. That's the one thing that always bothered me about their accent comments.

Fatima - not to mention that in ANTM rules they say that contestants must be american citizens and Fatima is not

I think maybe you have to be a citizen or a refugee and she is a refugee.

I wouldn't brag, but I'd be totally stoked if I lost 5 pounds. Maybe people talk about it because it feels like a personal conquest, and everyone likes to talk about their own little victories!
