Deafies at X-Men 3

Last night matrushkaka and I actually did go see X-Men 3 after I stole a Prius. Fomdi told us that a nearby theater was showing it open captioned, and the ticket seller warned us again that the movie would have captions, and we were very prepared to see a movie with captions ( Read more... )

Don't think so, because I remember seeing Stargate with Dawn for our first movie date. We had to sit in the front row because we got to the theater late...

It didn't seem bad to me, but I got the feeling that they departed pretty heavily from the book and that comic book nerds were cursing their name.

What chain (notice my assumption) owned the theater? When I was on crutches and had a bad-disability-accomodation experience, it took missludmilla several phone calls before she even got to somebody who knew that Lowe's has a disability policy. The really frustrating thing was that she'd talked to them in advance of the movie and they'd said all the right things.

Random on-topic thought: the key to pretending to be deaf and getting into a theater cheaply isn't the acting like you can sign when you can't, it's the part about not responding to the noises around you. Only then
can you be convinving, grasshopper. Oh and having a giant deaf viking buy the tickets, that's pretty important too.
