Deafies at X-Men 3
Last night matrushkaka and I actually did go see X-Men 3 after I stole a Prius. Fomdi told us that a nearby theater was showing it open captioned, and the ticket seller warned us again that the movie would have captions, and we were very prepared to see a movie with captions.
The movie had no captions. Apparently open captioned movies no longer have the captions burned into the print with a laser: there's a digital projector that projects the text on the screen in sync with the movie, and the projector wasn't working.
I told them about the problem and they were VERY apologetic. They refunded our money AND gave us six tickets to see other movies. They also refunded our large popcorn and drink that we left in the theater.
Then just as we were leaving they told us "someone just fixed the projector and now the captions are working" so we went back in the theater and watched our free movie while munching our free popcorn and fondling our six free movie tickets.
I haven't spent so little money to go see a movie since I pretended to be deaf back in college with daakroth (who is) and gauntleteer (who isn't) so that we could get special discounted tickets in Tucson.
