After an epic 24-hour return adventure with bigkgbguy, I am "home" from Burning Man, alive and still more or less in one piece. There are two 16x16 shade structures on sale at Target for $70. I just saw them today. We are all set.

About half of the week I was having a hard time, but it was really sad when it was time to leave. My sentiment was, "this sucks, but home sucks more." At least all the people we like are here. Also, it wouldn't be as much fun if we never went home.

It was fun hanging out with you on Thursday.

Yeah, I've kind of come to terms with the sucky part as being a necessary condition for the good stuff. It also sucks in a "How am I going to survive this awfulness" way rather than a "My soul is being slowly sucked away" way, which I think is better for understanding yourself and living your life.

Anyway, I had fun with you on Thursday too. I was really glad you came and rescued me from the state I was in. It helped a lot.

Actually, and this is really sad, but I've enjoyed being back at work today about 10,000 times than I enjoyed Worst Day Ever. *sad face* I have learned many valuable lessons.

I think I'm done with carports.

I know some people have used them successfully for many years, but the one I had blew over in the windstorm. It was rebarred down. What happened was that the poles bent and the top slipped off, I think. I will probably throw it away since I don't think the bent bars can be fixed.

Not sure what I'll do next time. Maybe this:
