Yea, I don't venture into GW as much as I used to. I go to my thunk threads (shamefully) but that's just to chat with a few folks and pretend it's on topic by posting dreamy pictures.
It's crazy that people who have different views on the show can't get along well enough to avoid all this wank. I'm rather ashamed sometimes that the fandom lacks the maturity to play in the same sandbox together. If you wouldn't say it in real life, why would you say it on line? Those are real people behind those avatars folks!
McKay/Weir? Really? hmm... have to think of that one when my re-watch rolls around. I don't think I really paired Weir with anyone on my first go 'round. Personally, I like McKeller but mostly to the extent that it keeps McShep out of canon. Again, just me... playing in a sandbox... way over here.... ;)
Oh yes, there is a lot of anger and wank on pretty much any side of any decision/ship/whatever on SGA. It really got bad after the third season and IMO the GW mods never really stepped up to stop things before they got so out of control. Now it feels like most of the calm debate is gone, replaced by one side vs. the other.
I've always had a soft spot for M/W, probably starting way back in Hide and Seek. I never wanted it to become canon, just happy to watch their interactions and smile. :)
Yeah, it's a mess, but they're (the mods) not listening to anyone, so I gave up. :( Personally I think it'll end up being majority rules - since everyone has to get along on the same threads, the majority opinion (be it pro or anti) will end up forcing the other opinion out. It's interesting how the anti-S10 thread has pretty much been allowed to go on its merry way, except for a title change. :S
Imagine if/when the Shep/Weir and Shep/Teyla shippers butt heads in the anti-all Shep ship thread!
I think the anti-s10 thread stayed because sky and some of the other mods are/were regular posters there. I'll be watching when they get rid of the anti s5 thread to see if the anti s10 thread also goes.
Well it's either ineptitude (from this group? SHOCKING) or intentional (they want to surprise us with...what exactly?). After the subtle and not so subtle sexism from TPTB who ran SGA into the ground, it does seem suspicious that all of the women have been so hidden.

and GW are dumb. That's why I stay mainly in the Supernatural thread these days.
