I have a very cheeky and greedy request to make. There are two short TOKIO clips on youtube that I would be incredibly happy to have translations of.
1.
This clip of them on Music Station, plugging Honjitsu, Mijukumono - there's a lot of other stuff going on. The TOKIO part sort of starts at 3:39, but the talk part that i'd love to get a

The next week when Nagase was on by himself, Tamori constantly refered back to the "M" comment. (^_^)

Y'know, I don't really ponder whether they're M or S, since we don't really use them as personality types here, but I definitely would not have pegged Nagase for being the type to say he's M. It seems sort of out of character somehow. . .

I'm doubly excited because I just got my sister into JE and we both love TOKIO and we're always saying to each other how much we want more TOKIO-age and now I not only get to read and enjoy these translations myself, I also get to share them with her! Which I know will make her really happy, too.

I'll translate when I can, but I'm really fickle about it and only do it when I feel like it and even I can't make myself feel like translating. It's why I can't do this as a profession. (^_^)

Wow, 18. Although if the kids joining now are younger and younger, I guess that wasn't as extreme then. . . it seems now that most of the juniors are joining when they're under 13. But maybe in 1988 18 was closer to the average joining age.

There is one HEY!x3 and I can't remember the group...I think it was V6, but I'm not sure...when someone mentions Leader and Hama-chan says, "That man isn't Johnny's!"
TOKIO has a rather quiet fanbase, even in Japan. That's not to say they're not popular. It's just that they exist on such an ubiquitous level, there are comparitively few people who extremely love them or hate them. Actually, I have never met anyone who had a negative image of TOKIO. I have met people with negative images of all the other Johnny's groups. In anycase, what I'm trying to get to is that since there aren't many fanatic people in Japan, the stuff doesn't really make it out of the country internet-wise. And they're not the pretty boys anymore, they've aged, and quite well, so it takes a bit longer for people to understand how damn cool they are. All personal opinions, of course. And from a girl who ended up staying in Japan over a year longer than she should have mainly for TOKIO. (^_^)

No no, not at all. I don't think you're the only one frustrated. It is really hard to find their stuff. :(
There's this new comm I saw which seems to be for sharing TOKIO media, if you haven't checked it out yet: tokio_suki.

guingel, thanks for posting this up here.
i've been wondering the same thing too, about the MS talks.
M: The key is really high. At that moment, I realized Nagase was amazing. And I would also like to take the opportunity to ask that, just because I'm in TOKIO, don't ask me to sing TOKIO. I don't sing. I just sang " Yay! Yay! Yay!" in [Uwasa no Kiss].LOL.. whatta coincidence.. the song's playing in my player right now ( ... )

TOKIO concerts are great. I've only been to three and while I was hanging on for another tour, looks like that's not going to happen while I'm still in Japan. But I have faith. They were given the name "TOKIO" so that anywhere they went, they would be recognized as being from Japan. Whether it been ten, twenty, thirty or even more years from now, they'll make their way worldwide. And I'll be waiting with open arms.
Welcome to the community. Thanks for writing this comment. I might not have added you otherwise, since I don't like empty journals being in the comm. There are a number of locked entries that you'll probably enjoy. (^_^)

thanks very much for accepting me here, despite of that.
words just can't describe how much i really feel for TOKIO,
and that's coming from someone who hasn't even set a foot in Nihon.
i'll prolly be starting to write my endless rants about them soon enough. LOL
i find it really amzing that you extended your stay in Japan mainly for TOKIO.
ahh~ university life really gets in the way of fangurling.. j/k
but when the opportunity comes, i really won't miss the chance to see them live. (ack.. i'm just a few hours of flight away from Japan. *sigh*)
your translations really made me see them.
i've long been curious about that certain JE group who can play instruments for quite sometime, and whenever i visit JE forums, i *fail* to find anything more about them. (they're mostly from Arashi--> KAT-TUN ( ... )

My extended stay is in my eyes both amazing and stupid. But I figured it was my last chance to do something stupid before getting sucked into the real world, so I took advantage of it. I've never encountered a single person who looked down on my decision, which was a bit of a surpise to me. And it's been worth it. Expensive. But worth it.
Before this gets too long, I'll end with: Taichi on drums was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. (^_^)
