This hotel room smells like grandmothers' perfume. The lobby smells like smoked meat.1

I'm travelling a lot lately. I miss my dog, my cat, and my boyfriend (although not necessarily in that order). At least I'm mostly going to places that don't suck.2

This hotel has no smell at all, because I am too stuffy to smell anything. It's also in a seedier part of town than I thought. So I fit right in, I guess.

This hotel smells like paint, even though (according to my brochure) the remodeling was completed 3 years ago. There are also live lovebirds in the lobby, which strikes me as creepy for some reason.

This hotel smells like peaches. As in, really, really overwhelming peaches.

I recently saw Martha Stewart waiting for a train in a BART station. At least, I'm pretty sure it was her. She looked a little frumpy and disheveled, but rumor has it that prison does that to a person.

The hallways here smell like bacon, and someone down the hall has whooping cough.

I have found that occasionally, when attempting to do something good, situations can quickly get out of control and turn into giant fucking nightmares. This is, apprently, the week for that.

Thankfully this isn't always the case, or I'd have offered up a great big FUCK YOU to the world in general a long, long time ago.

Black of grackels, glints purple as, wheeling in sun-glare,
The flock splays away to pepper the blueness of distance.
