Last weekend, when I was driving home from a wedding, I was listening to Cross Country Checkup talk about the G8/G20 security costs. This was a classic example of the media greasing their own palms whipping the public up into a furor.

Is it just me, or do other people experience this as well? It seems to me that Google doesn't work as well as it used to when it comes to finding what I'm looking for. It still does fine, and produces predictable results, when I search for basic things like historical figures, places or definitions (though I still prefer Onelook.com for that). ( Read more... )

Driving back from Montreal last night, I listened to As It Happens. It's a great show, with the right mix of light and serious stories, and usually decent depth of coverage. It seems like they're doing a little more of the comedic side of things, but I don't mind when they produce gems like this from here (audio versions available too).
