"...calling you? Who is? Your dad? Or...Denzel or something?"

She didn't look up at first, concentrating on cinnamon buns and on capturing that big ugly sky thing in her sketchpad. But when Eiko didn't answer and was suddenly not there, she set off after her, dashing after her friend.

Eiko continued to walk through the castle, climbing stairs and passing confused guards. They were used to the young summoner's presence from time to time, but she was drawn so fully that she didn't acknowledge them. Her jewels continued to glow brighter and brighter and finally one frightened soul dared to speak up. "Where are you going?"

"The summoner has been called... Alexander's judgment has come!"

Mention of Alexandria's guardian struck all of them silent and more than a few tried to follow her, only to find their way blocked by an invisible barrier as she ascended the stair. They remembered all too well the last that the holy Eidolon appeared and things were dire indeed. A shout went up for someone to find the general and female soldiers scattered leaving the little summoner to answer the call pulling her higher and higher.

"...who's judgement? Eiko, you're acting weird! What's going on?!"

Relm managed to stay ahead of the barriers for now, scrambling to keep moving just ahead of her friend.

After making his way out of the Mire days ago and meeting Serah and Vanille, the three had travelled north to Alexandria. Truth be told, as soon as they'd stopped at an inn he'd spent most of his time trying to sleep off the cold and exhaustion, as much as he wanted to see the sights of another world. Now he'd recovered his strength he was determined to explore, and was ready to leave when there was a sharp pain in his wrist. His l'Cie brand, which had become frozen like Fang's on arrival, suddenly began to glow a bright golden hue. Just like the first time his Eidolon had appeared... Except this time, he was the one being called.

"I have to go," he said to no one in particular, leaving the inn in a trancelike state. Though he knew little of the city layout, he turned towards the castle and walked on, guided by an invisible force.

It had been a long few days, but after the rest since coming to Alexandria, Serah did feel somewhat recovered from it all. But the Lunatic Pandora moving bothered her - not only for the fact of the danger it could possess, or the long shadow it cast over the land in front of it, but the worry for her sister. Lightning had gone to board it, and Serah'd had no word since. With Lightning, no news was good news, in its way. She was busy, doing her job, saving them all. Serah was doing hers, with Vanille. But it still didn't stop her glancing to her phone every now and then, waiting for any trace of her or Fang, anything at all ( ... )

Vanille had never actually been to Alexandria before, and the sight of the city at first made her gasp with surprise and wonder. But soon after, she acclimated to it, sticking close to Serah and Hope. She knew Lightning would be very upset with her if she let anything happen to Serah and she didn't want another spot of guilt on her conscience.

She was worried about their friends, even the ones from other worlds, but she didn't show it if she could help it. Even subdued, Vanille was still a bright spot.

Still, she was with Hope and Serah in the inn when she noticed Hope acting strange. She paused and frowned, hurrying after Serah.

"Hope!" she called, glancing at Serah in fear. "What's wrong? I've never seen a brand do anything like this before." Well... she'd seen them glow like that many times, but she'd never seen someone... not pay attention like this. "We should follow him."

Hope barely heard them, he was so fixated on his goal. He continued on straight towards the castle, the people in the streets and the sights of the city all going unnoticed. At the castle entrance the guards blocked his passage, but he pointed to the top of the castle, branded wrist still glowing brightly.

"He's calling his summoners. I have to go to him. Alexander..."

At the mention of the holy Eidolon's name, the guards looked alarmed but immediately let them through. Hope continued on and reached the castle, knowing exactly which corridors to take and stairways to ascend. He was heading straight for the top, where he'd indicated, not even looking back so much as once to see if Serah and Vanille were still following.

Garnet wasn't entirely sure how she'd come to be where she was. Like a ghost, she'd drifted through the halls, completely focused. She remembered nothing clearly, except a warm light in the center of the jewel around her neck. How she managed to ascend the stairs, she wasn't sure -- such a thing these days normally left her out of breath. There was a voice, in the back of her mind. A distant murmur, guiding her path, urging her forward.

"What is it you need?" she asked, barely a whisper. The voices of the Eidolons had never been completely clear to her, as though she had cotton stuffed in her ears. But, someone wanted her. Someone needed her.

But why?

Eiko too found herself standing on the roof of the castle, although this was no surprise to hear. She could hear the Eidolon speaking clearly to her through her horn. He was calling his summoners. The demand was loud enough to her to drown out all else around her, in fact.

The moment she spotted Garnet, she raced forward, pulled as if they were two halves of a magnet. "He's calling us again."

((ooc: This works great!))

(ooc: yep, works for me!)

Hope, too, had reached the roof, surprising even himself by making it through a castle he'd never set foot in before, Serah and Vanille in tow. His brand was still glowing a bright gold on his wrist, but the immediate pain had by now subsided. Ordinarily he would have panicked at his brand acting in a way he'd never seen before, but somehow, he'd known instinctively what was being asked of him.

Seeing the girl, Eiko, and a woman he wasn't familiar with, Hope found himself drawn towards them.

"He called you both, too...?"

Garnet had half-expected Eiko to be there. She had not, however, expected this third person -- a young boy she didn't recognize. She blinked, and nodded.

"So you hear it as well. Then... you're a summoner too?"

She barely noticed that her necklace had begun to shine even more brightly, it's light rivaling that of Eiko's own jewels, and the strange brand on the boy's wrist.
