Some men just want to watch the world burn...

OMG. I SAW THE DARK KNIGHT ON TUESDAY. AND I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was such an unbelievably amazing movie - for a change living up to all the hype that has been surrounding it. And it serves as an entertaining superhero film, a 'thriller'/horror (?) film, and a very intelligently made film about madness and power and corruption - what is ' ( Read more... )

Ohoho, I love the way you think! Xp

I can't get the movie out of my head! (And I saw it like, ten days ago or something.) I think I need to go to the cinema again SOON. I've been trying to avoid doing so, 'coz I don't need more obsessions right now - my hands are full with capital F - but somehow I know that I fail already.

"Batman tears through screen on batpod" shot = incoherent speech. Favorite moment ever! Xp

Oh, I've got the soundtrack, but it's not originally mine. I downloaded it from someone else. Would you like the link? And I don't know whether you're a member of justsoundtracks or not, but someone recently just shared "Batman Begins" expanded score here

Haha, thanks! :P

I CAN'T GET IT OUT EITHER. It was fantastic. I keep stewing over everything and discussing it with people. Which sucks because of exams, but OH WELL...
The awesome thing for me

Did you see it on IMAX, or am I just misinterpreting?
The action scenes were wicked awesome and "realistic" for a superhero movie. :)

I am a member (but I'm going to screen your comment because I don't want them to get caught!) - I did get TDK off another friend, but thanks so much for the BB link! Is it as good?

I've been hearing pretty much the same thing about Dark Knight from everyone on LJ, and I am now 100% convinced that I really really really need to go see it. I just need to find someone to go and see it with me. :D

btw, LOTR soundtrack = ten kinds of awesome.

SEE IT. It might not live up to everything everyone's been saying, but it's certainly a film worth watching, enjoying and stewing over.
It's the kind of film that you actually don't need anyone with you because you are so engrossed in the film - all you need is some Coke and popcorn, and you'll have a good time. ;)

btw, LOTR soundtrack = ten kinds of awesome - I love it. The music can be so soothing - it's my study!music, along with Enya and Narnia. :)

Although I *am* a little worried that I've been spoiled for the movie by all of the hype surrounding it. Oh, well; when I do get around to seeing it I'll try to go in with lowwwww expectations, so I won't be let down. :D

I agree that you should wait for the DVD - whilst I still can't believe that you can't find a place to watch it in English (that must suck!!)... the Joker's voice wouldn't sound the same coming out of anyone else's mouth. It's so... IDK. Chilling. Sadistic.

It's because he's such a gifted actor I find him so visually appealing (at least in this film)- it's hard to explain, but when he plays Batman, the personality is "projected" onto his looks. LOL, I won't kill you, promise!
:)
[And ew. Please don't say "dazzled". Gives me Twilight connotations I don't want/need. xD]

The thing that freaks me out is that it's not obscure - it's the dominant ship. And I don't have a problem with slash, necessarily, I have a problem with a ship that's so sadistic and so... weird. [Why does everyone like the Joker's character so much? Has he hit some hidden chord of anarchist sympathy?]
Some Joker/Batman fics try and brush away all the madness and cruelty and violence and make them have some kind of disturbed "happy ever after" (which is just ( ... )

The Joker isn't just "evil". Evil people just have morals that are left of centre to what is acceptable at that time in that particular society. The Joker is completely insane. ;)
I guess different people have different kinks, but there are times when I feel like I'm the only person that likes a relatively 'normal' ship - where are all the Rachel/Bruce? They broke my heart but no-one seems to care about her. Or Batman for that matter... ;)
[Actually, I think it's more the fact that so many fandom-ites don't seem to understand that boys and girls (and boys and boys and girls and girls, now) can actually be friends - that there is are close relationships that aren't necessarily romantic. Often these relationships are actually closer, not tainted by all the chaos of hormonal "love". So they ship everyone - the Winchester and Petrelli brothers, the Pevensie children, Joker and Batman - and then psychoanalyse every innocent movement/dialogue for evidence to 'support' it. *headdesk*]
Ignore me. I'm ranting. xD

Batman was so amazing, I couldn't get over it. Harvey hurt my heart. He was quite perfect until the end. :( On another note, one of the previews for the film was for Watchmen and there was Jeffery Dean Morgan in it (papa!chester!) and he looked like he got hurt and all I could think was STOP! Killing Jeffery Dean Morgan. Trufax.

Hee. ITA! :P

Watchmen, huh? I haven't heard of it, but I have seen a .gif of Papa!chester from the trailer (coming through flames or something? IDK)... he looked good. ;)
Aww! I'm sure they won't kill him off.
... Again.
*fingers crossed*

*hugs you*

wasn't it epically awesome! man i'm so glad i made myself actually go see it at the theater. i needed the big screen for all the amazingness.

i said it before and i'll say it again. Bale is My Batman. and now Ledger is My Joker.

my manager and i were having the same conversation on the fate of Harvey Dent/Two-Face. he seemed pretty dead. but then you always remember that the one thing about comic book villains is that they never die, they live to battle the superhero another day. so i wouldn't be surprised if Gordon had an empty casket buried and Dent is in Arkham without anyone knowing. i would like that because it would mean the return of Two-Face (i thought they did exceptionally well with the makeup to create the character).

Epic is definitely one of the words I'd use - but the fantastic thing was that it managed to delve into the world deeply and realistically, whilst an ordinary 'epic' just tends to sweep all the gritty parts under the carpet in favour of this great "story".

I love Bale's Batman - Clooney and the like have their place, but Bale goes deeper and harder than any of the others ever did - a "revisionist" Batman, as they say. God bless you, Chris Nolan. :P

but then you always remember that the one thing about comic book villains is that they never die, they live to battle the superhero another day - true, I suppose. But as my brother pointed out, he did fall quite a long way - and he was still "only human". IDK whether they will move onto other villains or bring him back - I am SO CURIOUS to see where they will go, with such a poignant and depressing ending.

if Locke from LOST can fall out of an 8th floor window and survive (he did wind up in a wheelchair) so can Harvey Dent. and Bruce fell the same distance. true he had on the suit, but i didn't think it made him indestructible.

the outcome of Harvey Dent/Two-Face will probably be debated until the next movie :)

I guess. But Batman knew what he was doing and he landed on his feet - I think Two-Face just fell... well, flat, right?
I can't remember, so don't take my word for it. xD

LOL, I guess it will be debated until he is confirmed in the film again. xD
That said, production studios can hide this stuff well. The third season of Robin Hood is in post production and we STILL don't know for certain whether Will and Djaq are back at all.
