Hi! I know I'm new here, but I just wanted to ask the people who are members of "The Phantom Hive" livejournal (cause you can only access it only if you're a memeber), that if you didn't know, please vote for the Tiger&Bunny doujinshi to be released on Friday the 20th. Currently, Hitman Reborn is leading by 17 votes so far, so we need a lot ( Read more... )

Just need more votes. There is currently a 5 vote difference. Who knows what may happen next week. *is nervous* >^<

I do like a lot of the "cute" fanart of both characters, but for doujins, I prefer it if they're handsome. Especially if it's smut based.

Yeah same here, I like when they look more mature for doujinshis. (or balance of being mature and cute lol)

At first when I heard T&B, I though Bunny is gonna be uke, since he's young and a pretty boy... then after finish watching the show I understand why so many ppl ship bunnyxtiger. However, I have a few KxB doujinshis, mainly because of the art style, but if the Bunny is too uke in the doujinshi, I can't read it no matter how good the art is. >__<

But the funny thing is, when I draw Bunny in my comic and doujinshi... I made him look like an uke lol...

Yeah, I was worried about that too but I guess his attitude in the beginning put people off until later in the series.

Hah! I probably have that problem too! I usually try to capture the original artist's design but they usually kinda look like a chibi until I practice more. "Cute" or "pretty" style drawings are actually relatively easier to do. However, when trying to put in proper anatomy and better detail (still can't draw shoes or feet >_<), then we all start struggling.

By the way, seemingly random question, but do you think Barnaby would look less like an "uke" if he had shorter hair? To be honest, I don't really like his curly long hair much but some people drew some really good short hair version of Barnaby and I say, he looks much more handsome like that. :D

Have been watching anime, reading manga for a LONG time, one kid old enough to leave home a while ago, other one is still here though. :) Got asked at a recent convention if I knew what anime since I am an older anime lover and fujoshi. Remember the days of watching it with one of my friends on the base growing up who knew Japanese and she got vhs tapes from Japan, then we'd watch them and she would tell me what was going on dialogue wise. Also the lovely badly dubbed anime and live action series also.

Favourite pairing - Bunny x Tiger, though I like Bunny x Origami Cyclone and Yuri x Barnaby, though these are harder to find it seems.

Kotetsu would be my favourite in the anime, followed by Origami Cyclone.

Read mostly seinen which seems to be the way it is, dark secret or past they prefer to hide. I write about flawed or defective characters, my preference I guess since everything I do write is extremely violent.

Interesting. I wish I had a friend who knows Japanese. Or more importantly, a Japanese friend whom I can share explicit yaoi with freely. :D

So did you have a phase like I did where you had a transition from younger idealist main characters to realistic ones, or did you favor "dark and defective" characters from the start?

Hmm. My favorite pairing is pretty much anybody/Kotetsu in that order. I prefer yaoi but het. is acceptable.

Question. If your top favorite characters are Kotetsu and Ivan, why is Barnaby or Yuri involved? Just curious for your reasoning.

That friend was pre-yaoi days or just barely anyway, beta days then, vhs though beat them out. Anyway, just returned from work. Think yaoi was '78? Was ummm, well my mum would have kicked my ass if I had been reading it back then. She got annoyed when she found some two years ago and my eldest was out of the house then. Those were the days that my father smashed a sex pistols record just because of the name. :)

Yuri is my 4th favourite and I cannot see him topping Kotetsu, but can see Barnaby. Ivan is so cute that I can't see Kotetsu topping either, Barnaby yes, the dj with Keith are alright, just prefer the one I have with Barnaby and Ivan, plus have one with Yuri and Barnaby.

I grew up a horror fanatic and think that probably the dark heroes were my favourite. FIrst favourite book was Wuthering Heights ... 2nd would have been the Hobbit. Dark brooding sorts in both. Enjoy finding out what made them that way and if they can change.

So so on the het, though I used to write het s&m once upon a time.

Heh. I'm not really good with horror shows or books (back then Goosebumps was the scariest book for me). I'm getting into scary games though. Not good at playing them but I like watching my brother play.

What's Wuthering Heights? Don't think I've heard of it before... And the Hobbit deals with Bilbo's background right? It's been a while since I read that book.

Huh. To be honest, I think I know more about intercourse for yaoi then I do for het. I wonder if I'm in the majority of the fandom with that then.

I just don't like it when there's too much humiliation or Kotetsu is too OOC. Actually, I don't like humiliation and OOCness to any character, I can't really find anything funny in that. I don't have any problem with Bunny crossdressed and playing a dominatrix act to Kotetsu but hey, the keyword here is "playing". No real violence, please.

Curiously, the impression you have of Kotetsu/Barnaby is the one I have of Barnaby/Kotetsu XD Maybe I was just unlucky, but the few Barnaby/Kotetsu doujins I've seen are quite somber, with Kotetsu being tortured/raped by a totally-gone-nuts-Barnaby.

Anyways, my favorite stories are either the ones they are just starting to realize what they feel for each other, and the ones they are already a stablished couple.

Actually, I always wondered about that. The OOCness thing. I mean, sometimes it's really obvious when a character stops being him/her-self but if you don't know much about them (usually b/c they were purposely made that way) how do you know when they are OOC ( ... )

My top three favorite characters: Kotetsu, Karina, Agnes
My top three favorite ships (assuming one-sided ships count): Karina->Kotetsu, Ivan->Kotetsu, Yuri->Kotetsu
My top three favorite ships (assuming one-sided ships don't count): Barnaby/Kotetsu, Karina/Kaede, Karina/Keith

I'm twenty-three. Can't honestly say that I think my age has anything to do with my character or ship preferences, though. Aside from broadened horizons due to outgrowing certain prejudices, I've remained pretty steady in my interests.

Hah. Kotetsu's surrounded by female characters who like to boss him around. :)

Bottom!Kotetsu fan?

Interesting... Karina/Kaede. Seems plasible although a little awkward if Karina ever had to confess that she had a crush on Kotetsu. Heh. Everyone Kaede has a crush on seems to have a crush on Kotetsu. :)
Bet their relationship starts by complaining about Kotetsu treating them like kids.

I just wondered if most people who loves anime favored the younger, pretty boy characters because they were young and somewhat idealistic. But as they get older, do they change their perference to characters who seem more likely to exist in reality minus superpowers/gadgets?

Thanks for your input on this discussion! :D

Kotetsu's surrounded by female characters who like to boss him around. :)

And I think he likes it there more than he'd admit ;)

Bottom!Kotetsu fan?

Yes and no. I lean toward bottom!Kotetsu in general, but I like him on either side depending on the situation and the dynamics between him and [Whoever]. I write out ships the way I like to say them rather than with any consciousness of who's on first top.

Ngl, the potential awkwardness is a big part of what I love about Karina/Kaede. Also, the thought of Karina moving on from her first love to his daughter amuses me. Mostly, though, I just think they'd be super cute together. Granted, I associate them both with vaguely wintery themes, and winter fluff is one of my favorite kinds of fluff.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people's character preferences changed with age; there's plenty of anecdotal evidence to support the idea. I just wanted to state for the record that it's not the case with me personally :)

Well, if he gets over being terrified then yes, he'll probably like it. :D

True. I agree with you that despite favoring him as bottom, it really depends on the situation.

Huh. I'm not big with winter right now. Physical winter at least, nothing wrong with the metaphysical winter in writing that won't freeze you to death. Am currently and temporarily staying in Buffalo city and the weather keeps varying from freezing to I know you want to put a t-shirt on but my cold winds won't let you!cold. :\

You know, after the awkwardness fades from Kotetsu's side, he might be happy that his daughter and daughter-figure is together! No more worrying about potential boyfriends he'll have to fend off! And both Karina and Kaede will be face palming together like a couple. :D

I'm 20. Been into anime since the age of seven or so although I haven't really started watching more then what was on tv until the last couple of years

Favorite character and pairing is the two mains.

I wouldn't say that I favor dark/older over cuteness but I prefer well written and original stories compared to the moeblob cookie cutter shows that Japan churns out every single season

Hm... Roughly the same age I started. Except anime for me were mangas of Dragon Ball cause that was the only comic my library had at the time. And they in were public. For kids to read. Ha!
I got into anime much later, around my teens I think. I didn't have internet until then cause I was the only one who could speak english fluently while everyone else didn't or was even younger than me to get it.

Do you prefer a top/bottom relationship for them or a switch relationship?

Sometimes I think the reason why Japan toss those type of anime at us is if you're living in America, most of the comics are superhero based but as super-muscular and sorta real life based and sometimes drawn with prejudice. For new fans of anime, they probably got into it because of the cute style and fantasy characters (characters that are over 30 but still look like a hot teenager? Yellow, spiky hair that you can't achieve without a wig unless you have a really good stylist or industrial strength hairspray?).

I didn't get into manga until around the age of eleven when I found some at the bookstore, but I've been collecting a lot ever since. But around the age of seven I watched Toonami regularly (the afternoon version of course)

Switch. I don't have a preference. It works either way and there's ideas to be explored in both directions.

I think the reason why T&B has such a brood appeal is because it has well written characters, freshness, charms and a little bit of action/drama/character-driven/bromance to appeal towards many types of people.

Wait, I don't want to sound like a derp, but what's Toonami? I don't think I have heard of it before when I was younger...

Hmm... I thought T&B appealed to older people? Of course there is younger fans, but I thought it was targeted towards people who would look deeper into hidden meanings or something like that, I don't know.
Um, what I think I mean to say is, my previous comment about Japan tossing us "moeblob" anime was not about T&B but about other animes they had made in the past. Although I'm pretty sure someone on tumblr kept on describing Kotetsu as a "moeblob" as well. Makes me confused. I have seen examples of moe characters, but what is moe exactly in relation to Kotetsu?
