so, some of you might have seen this guy who begs for money at the corner of President street right before the 83 exit. he's a black guy, maybe early 40s, and he has no arms, and one leg (two hook/grabbing mechanisms and a shitty wooden prosthetic). i dont have that guy, but those damned comercials for feed the children. i get all nuts about saving for college, and sports, and what influence video games are gonna have on him...and then i think, i have never had to wtch my sons cry out from hunger, or cold. medical attention is always available to them, fuck what it cost, its around the corner. shit RUNNING CLEAN WATER, for our baths, for our pets, to put in fucking water ballons. being dirt poor here is not bad.

i've seen that guy, he would give me a lot more perspective about my life if he were working and not, ya know, panhandling. you do realize that by giving him money, you are actively preventing this guy from going out and doing shit with his life, right?

a good friend of mine growing up was born with one leg, to a poor family living on welfare. she was the first from her family to go to college, and now is working at a rehabilitation center for children and people who have lost limbs. _she_ gives perspective, not some panhandling bum.
