Oh god, the cats and porn! That is hilarious, but it only gives the boyfriend more ammunition to film us. Our spotted cat is really into sitting on the bed while we're having sex.

I know, right? Cats, man. Don't give a shit.

I don't know if I should encourage or not encourage you to end up on that tumblr, so, er, big thumbs up no matter what!

Oh, my naked body will never end up on the Internet. I have a couple very unique, largish tattoos on the back of my shoulder, so it would be really easy to know it's me and not some chick who kinda looks like me, or a random headless body.

I want a job with healthcare benefits too much for that to happen.

Oh, that's no problem-- you put the cat over the tattoo area. Problem solved!

I am very sad that you made so much pie and I was not around to steal them. For I love pie ( ... )

There'll be some leftover pie. I have a chunk of it left.

Oh, I doubt it. It's a huge pic-spam. I'm still sorting out the pictures I want to use for it. My job is just to assist you on your primer and think of what primer shit I want to write for my own journal. It probably wouldn't be anything reputable that the hockeypedia site could use.

I got the link off the Go Fug Yourself blog, so I dunno, maybe it just got popular a while back. Probably got linked on boing boing or something. Yeah, any sandiwch for Maryland has to be crab in nature.

Good move. They're still creeping me out.

Thanks! I will appreciate that while at the family thing I need to attend.

War of 1812 Commemorative Tea. I like Capital Teas, so you should check out the rest of their website, but this one made me boggle a bit when it showed up in my inbox. Of all the things to commemorate in tea form-- I would not have initially picked this off the bat. (Of course, now I am obligated to find some, serve it to thebaconfat when she visits, and then see if she burns down my house.)

Y'know, if there's one thing we're worse at over here than remembering the War of 1812 is a thing for you guys is remembering that the Canadians were involved. Or at least what would become the Canadians were involved.

See, the thing is, it's not even really a thing for anyone else. Basically, Marylanders remember what it is because we have to-- it's on our fucking license plates until 2015. Behold, what most of us are staring at while sitting in traffic.

And basically, the main points anyone remembers out of it is "We tried to annex Canada, the British burned down the White House, and Francis Scott Key wrote the song we sing before all our sporting events."

Meanwhile, as I'm sure you guys were thinking more about Napoleon, I imagine your reaction was something like, "What? We were fighting? Okay, sure, whatever."

I didn't realize those gaudy tags were standard issue. I thought they were an opt-in kind of item. While I don't mind them (I dig the whole Francis Scott Key story, even if I think the Star Spangled Banner is a terrible national anthem; plus, it happened on my birthday, which is a far nicer national moment to think about than what happened the day before my birthday in recent history...my birthday is September 12), I like them less knowing people don't have a choice about them, without spending additional money NOT to get them.

To me, the War of 1812 is also notable for providing the basis of Johnny "The Singing American!" Horton's classic song "The Battle of New Orleans". Seriously, follow that link and watch that video, even if you already know the song. Especially if you know the song. It's a televised recording from 1959, wherein The Singing American himself appears clad in all-white "buckskin" with a white "coonskin" cap. And then there's a smoke machine, and some interpretive dance involving redcoats and other guys in white ( ... )

I got mine automatically, so I assume they're standard issue. I don't dislike them them, but like I said, I always stare at them idly and think, "I hope Canadians are not feeling annoyed by this."

Oh, man, I remember that duck. That was Bubble Yum's thing, like...10ish years ago? I remember there was a whole promo thing when I was in middle school. It didn't make any more sense at the time, but I remember being really amused by this ridiculously hardcore duck that apparently enjoyed gum.

I know! THE DUCK HAS MYSTERIES! ...actually, I keep wondering what the D in his middle name stands for. Donald? Derek? Daniel? Plus, Floyd is possibly the least hardcore name ever. What the hell, Bubble Yum.

POWERFUL LESBIAN WIZARD

Crap, those Utena texts are amazing. The "god threw me a shovel" one gave me tingles. I'm tempted to suggest that we do the all-night Utena bender together. That probably would end with me burning your house down, but for the sake of revolution instead of commemorative tea.

And I love how the main thrust of that Mermaids article is pretty much, "BUT WHERE WOULD THEIR DICKS BE."

THAT'S WHAT SHORTS DO. Seriously, aren't they? Some of those texts are shockingly on the money. Whoever runs it has a great sense of picking pictures for it, too. And I love the descriptions they give of what's happening in the pictures; that's almost as good as the TFLN text itself.

WE SHOULD DO IT. WE'LL HAVE AN ALL NIGHT UTENA BENDER WITH ALCOHOL AND HOMOEROTIC SPORTS SOMEWHERE IN THERE. AND HOUSE BURNING. BECAUSE THAT'S HOW CANADIANS AND MIKAGE ROLL.

I know, right? Heh. Monkeys.
