Ugh. There is no one to blame for that loss but ourselves. That was just heartbreaking. It hurts even more to lose after two good periods and a shit-the-bed collapse in the third, second game of a back to back (to over time, with Philly, which is not exactly a spa day) notwithstanding. Once Caps led 3-0, Jets dominated the game. Started at 10 mins of 2nd period. 3rd period and OT were just dreadful. Outshot 19-2!!! The Caps did not have a shot until 3:03 left in 3rd!

The story of Capitals this season. Jekyll and Hyde. Jekyll was the Detroit game. Hyde was the Chicago game. Jekyll was the first 30 mins against the Jets. Hyde was the last 33 mins.

Don't think I didn't know you were cheering for the Jets. I KNOW.

But yeah, I think any time you try to go to a defensive shell over a one goal lead, it can be a crap shoot over whether it'll work or not. And on the second night of a back to back, they just didn't have the legs or energy to execute it well, and therefore-- ugh. Jets wanted it bad, and they were rested; they had the drive to finish and we didn't. Like I said, can't blame anyone but ourselves.

I maintain, though, that the Jets got a lot of whistle help in the game last week, and I still think Stuart should have gotten three games minimum.

Easy there, I was rocking the red tonight.

Of course, I must admit I was completely confused when I saw a couple of people wearing "Rock the Red" shirts that were blue. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Oh, my bad, dude; for some reason I remember you original entry saying something like wearing red but inwardly cheering Winnipeg. And I thought, "shit, if you're gonna cheer for the other team, at least dress it as well." Probably my poor morning read skills at play there.

Oh, I know I said that about the Caps. I do actually own a Caps' jersey. I actually root for home teams unless they are:

1) playing the NY Rangers, or
2) the Philadelphia Flyers

You mean, when people wear Joe Juneau jerseys?

Oh, and how are the jerseys of Olaf Kolzig and Peter Bondra not in the rafters?

I'm terrible at cheering for other teams. Just my horrible personality, I guess. I can do West Conference a little easier because we don't see them as often, of course, but I'm pretty much a Caps-only person.

Ha. Good point.

I do think Olie will get there. After all, he's come back to the organization now, and I think they're trying to eventually move him into the head goalie position after Prior. After all, he and the franchise had to mend all the hurt feelings after the bitter breakup. Same thing for Bondra-- he's completely deserving, and it'll happen eventually. He only retired in 2007; I'd say give it a few more years and it'll come around.

Holy mother fuck that crab. I can honestly say that, until today, I was never afraid of crustaceans. Oh wait no, that's a lie. There were Japanese Spider Crabs at the Sea Life Centre last time I went to visit. Crabs are fucking scary.

I know, right? That'll make me think twice the next time I'm chowing down on one of his lesser relatives. (I mean, not for long, because damn, I love eating blue crabs, but I'll probably pause for at least ten seconds.)

Jesus Christ, that Japanese crab is creepy as shit. Japan is fast rising on Australia as one of those, "Country full of crazy ass animals I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley."
