The Moving Experience
I cried last night as we said goodbye to our old place. We had gone room by room turning lights off and doing a last minute check. At each room, we said something that we'd remember about the place. Is being stuck on constant reevaluation mode a bad thing? I've developed this tendency in the back of my head to automatically judge whether things in my life are working or not. It's helped me over the past few months to whiddle out unproductive habits and develop more productive ones. I'm watching less TV and reading more. We're planning more ( Read more... ) -

My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy
I am currently sitting with my coffee and the laptop looking out at the mountain that I watched the sun rise behind earlier this morning. There's no traffic, no sirens, nothing except some birds chirping, woodpeckers woodpecking and ancient mountains as far as the eye can see. And we've reached a new point in the decline of public education. Novel thinking in terms of the teacher, but this is just sad that the teacher actually had to resort to this in order to get the basic supplies he needs for his classroom.
