Reading List Thus Far
So, after I tore through a novel in a couple of hours yesterday afternoon/early evening, I got to thinking about the books that I've read thus far this year. Thus, I wanted to make a list on here:
The Poe Shadow - Matthew Pearl
Lincoln - Gore Vidal
Best American Short Stories 2008 - various
Left Wing of a Bird - Arthur Vogelsang
The 42nd Parallel - John Dos Passos
Ella Minnow Pea - Mark Dunn
I'm still trying to think back, so I might be adding some more to this list. Also, I had a few history books that I read part of but didn't read from cover to cover. I started on Alexander McCall Smith's Tears of the Giraffe this morning which seems like it'll be a quick read as well. I'm trying to decide after that if I want to continue with Dos Passos's USA Trilogy or read something else before going on to "1919."
I've gotten into the habit of waking up at the first ringing of the alarm and reading until either Alex gets up or the time gets to where we have to get up and I nag Alex into a semi-waking state. It's a nice way to start the day (the reading, not the nagging).
